Rory Brown is running for VSB Trustee with the OneCity Team to put resources back into the classroom — not the board room. Parents, students, and staff in our public schools have endured brutal cuts to basic supports the past four years. They shouldn’t have to suffer another four.

I urge everyone to vote OneCity across the board, but especially for School Board. No other party has put forward a slate this experienced. VSB schools have seen brutal cuts in services and an apalling lack of open engagement at the board level. Schools, teachers and our kids deserve better.

It's official! Our 13 Candidates across City Council, School Board, and Park Board have submitted their papers to be on your ballot on October 17! We've got the team with the plan to build a more affordable, safe, and vibrant city for everyone.

I'm so dissapointed that @wazaroff.bsky.social has stepped down. While I agree that the election has to be about what's best for the city, not any one person, I am troubled by the lack of platforms, policy proposals - even statement of values I've seen from other ostensible progressives running.

We need to make sure the city is supporting working people. Over the past four years, Ken Sim and ABC have been doing everything but that. Check out @onecityvan.bsky.social's plan released today to reverse Ken Sim's harmful actions.

I think it needs to be said: OneCity has been the ONLY party willing to stick their necks out to reduce carbon emissions, especially on land use policy, where City Hall can actually make a difference (& where it's cheaper than free)

Seattle’s infill boom from 2000 to 2020 “eliminated about 1 million tons of potential greenhouse gas emissions basically for free… this category of climate action has been better than a free lunch. It’s been a lunch the region got paid to eat.”

A terse statement from ABC Vancouver announcing that Haer will no longer be running for them

Name recognition and incumbency are still given too much weight in municipal elections, in my experience. We will have better leaders if we choose based on leadership ability, actual experience/background, policy priorities, listening/learning skills, integrity, and good judgement/decision-making.
