Top surgery countdown: 3 hours Second shower taken. V itchy now. Also thirsty, but no liquids anymore. Feels surreal. I'm going to leave and then come back without part of my body. An unwanted part, but still.

Top surgery countdown: 12 hours I have to shower with super disinfectant soap and then not put on lotion until after surgery, and as someone with chronically dry skin I think I am dreading this part more than the surgery because I will be awake for it (bc let's be real I'm not sleeping tonight)

I, too, am allergic to Bactrim. I have not eaten an uncooked vegetable since this mess started. Grateful to Matt Courtland on Bluesky for their thread that informed me. And my nutritionist for helping me brainstorm solutions (gonna peel my own farmers market carrots under lots of water).

What’s important to know is that prevention is key for cyclosporiasis because the ONLY surefire cure is Bactrim. Unfortunately many people (ME) are allergic to sulfa drugs and the only way you find that out is when your tongue swells in your mouth and you break out in hives like I did
