It’s been 17 years since Congress last raised the minimum wage. $7.25/hr isn’t enough for working families to make ends meet. Americans are tired of waiting. We must #RaiseTheWage and give a pay bump to roughly 22 million workers.

This morning, I attended a rally in support of the nurses employed at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital who in 2023 became the first nurses to unionize at a hospital in Baltimore. The nurses' concerns about patient safety and staffing gaps have led to a one-day strike.

The American dream is only possible when workers' rights are protected, and unions have been doing that critical work for decades. I was happy to speak with my brothers and sisters in labor yesterday at the NJ AFL-CIO's annual convention. Together, we'll keep New Jersey's workers strong and safe.

This week my colleagues and I passed @norcross.house.gov's Faster Labor Contracts Act, requiring employers to speed up contract negotiations once a union is created. When workers do well, our economy thrives and our businesses do better.

This week, we forced a vote & passed @norcross.house.gov' Faster Labor Contracts Act✊ This bill requires employers to bargain with organized workers within 10 days of voting to form their union. We're calling on the Senate to pass the bill & deliver for workers.

A hard-earned union victory should mean a swift union contract. After forming a union, workers can wait over a year for a contract. Glad to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act with @laborcaucus.house.gov to stop employers from dragging their feet & denying workers representation.

The House just passed landmark workers’ rights legislation! 🎉 I'm grateful we were able to force a vote to cut through the bureaucracy and speed up the process to get a first contract without delay once a union is formed. This is a big win for workers across America. @laborcaucus.house.gov
