That’s why my office joined local leaders in calling for a protected, safe lane for delivery workers on Northern Boulevard in Queens. It’s past time to give the people who keep our city moving safer routes every day they’re on the job.

Today, we remember the lives lost on 9/11 & recognize the bravery of the first responders who answered the call that day. We continue to honor all the workers who lost their lives on the job & their families. We'll never forget their courage, their dedication, & their sacrifice.

Happy Labor Day! It’s an honor to defend American workers and unions everyday in the halls of Congress. Workers drive this nation’s economy, the wellbeing of our communities, and deserve the right to fair wages, benefits, and working conditions.

It’s Labor Day. In 1946, 400 clerks at Kahn’s & Hastings m–most of them women– walked out after a worker was fired for joining a union. When police escorted scab trucks through the picket line, trolley operators left their cars sitting in the street. Longshoremen came off the docks in solidarity.
