Canadian novelist-in-progress, Ea-nāṣir hater, and shopping cart aficionado. Doing okay (allegedly). "AI" is built on stolen art. I'll wear an N95 for as long as it takes.

Meme from 1943 from my dad’s collection of family memorabilia. This postcard was sent to my dad’s uncle. I love that it’s addressed simply to Thor Larson, Sandpoint Idaho, and it got where it was meant to go.

Black and white postcard. Caption: The Bowl Gazer. Hitler’s face is on the back of an open toilet, and he is gazing lovingly at his reflection in the toilet. Back of the post card.
Postmark Boise Idaho, Feb 7 1943.

Address: Thor Larson Sandpoint Idaho

Yeah— multiple people in my friend group who used to host are disabled now by long covid (like me!) and very few have outdoor space. But we used to have people over and order pizza or tacos etc. Cooking for others is a lot more work. Potlucks only.

“I’m surrounded by women I fucking hate. They’re vile, idiotic cows who I despise with every fiber of my being. And I have to say, it’s really depressing that they don’t want to date a nice guy like me.”

Screenshot of part of a Twitter post -I am surrounded by 20-35 year old women in my life that are dumb, incapable, useless, and fat. Everybody is fucking them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don't get it....Selection from twitter post reading - 2. They get 100s of matches per week on dating apps, they literally don't see me as a human.

Me: I am the breadwinner in my household Dude: ok, what does your husband think? Me: *giggling and widening my eyes* none of the men who provide for my garden have ever asked me to wed them Dude: uhhhhh have a nice day

Dude outside the grocery store, with a clipboard: take this, vote against WA having an income tax Me: but I want an income tax Dude: Sorry, I think I misheard you, vote to PREVENT an income tax Me: yes, I WANT an income tax Dude: (nonplussed) what does the breadwinner in your household want?

Never mind COVID: CBC JUST did a piece on the 'early arrival' of influenza, informing the public that measures they might take to avoid getting influenza are getting vaccinated & staying home if sick. That's it. Nothing about masks. www.cbc.ca/news/health/...

If public health and infection control leaders had any meaningful combination of competence and integrity we'd be seeing public education about the value of standards-compliant PPE (N95s) for protection against new variants, and its importance for avoiding long COVID. But they don't. So we aren't.

Large upload from Ontario yesterday, providing some striking revelations about the evolution of PJ.2.1. First, there is yet another strikingly divergent branch of PJ.2.1. This isn't one variant: it's four. More and more, this resembles the emergence of BA.1/2/3. What is happening? 1/

Too many people judge the disabled for what we do to survive. The truth is you can’t fathom what it’s like to live in a body that’s betrayed you. To exist in legislated poverty with no reliable help or care. To be left by the wayside to die and abandoned by almost everyone. 🧵
