I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.

Oh really?
a lot of what the right does nowadays is create an emotional support system for bigots. bigotry will offend and alienate people in your life, so the right looks provides a counterweight that lavishes you with praise.
Haley's going to lose badly, go down ugly (increasingly desperate racist attacks on AES), & AIPAC will just switch to backing the GOP candidate against AES. What a miserable bunch!

Every person this administration wrongly deported should be granted asylum and a path to citizenship. Won’t even begin to right wrongs like this. But it’s a place to start.

I'm interested in the comparative reception of The Odyssey and Frankenstein. Frankenstein was clearly the reimagining of Shelley's story by a new author. It kept the (most of the) main characters and the structure of the story, but transformed the themes, changed the ending...

Over on Twitter, the usual group of people are in total meltdown mode over this, but she was his stunt double during the scene with the Laestrygonian giants. The giants were all played by people over 7 feet tall. The doubles they used for Odysseus' crew were mostly under 5 feet tall.

Tomorrow, the House will vote on the NDAA, which includes a provision to merge parts of our military with the IDF. This amendment is an existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy. Every member of Congress must vote NO.
Went to see the Odyssey at a Tuesday matinee at a small town theatre. They had multiple screens sold out for simultaneous showings. Three thoughts: 1. It's woke as hell & all the better for it. 2. It's the best movie Nolan has made. 3. Costumes are goofy, but everything else is impeccable.
