There were so many red flags. Even before the sexual misconduct reports started dribbling out: the obvious lies about the Nazi tat, the problematic Reddit posts (and dubious explanations). By the time the first sexual misconduct story came out, it was no surprise and this was actually *expected.*

And this was the reason my grandfather, a coal miner, was able to afford to buy one of the largest houses in town. He’d bought a new car in ‘41, couldn’t really drive it due to rationing, but some rich dude really, really wanted a new car that couldn’t be bought because they weren’t being built.
