Open your mind and your heart may follow. #RefugeesWelcome #TransRightsAreHumanRights Profile picture: my good friend Maggie - a cute black and white dog with a caramel patch. Banner picture: shows the difference between equality, equity and inclusion.
If I could be granted one wish that would change the world for the better… Find a dog to adopt. That’s it. Simple as that. There are millions out there waiting ❤️
This Film often has the piss taken out of it for being a rather sedentary piece about 2 people just talking a lot — BUT — it has one of the most brilliantly prescient monologues in the history of Movies imho. MY DINNER WITH ANDRE (1981) Have a listen.
The lies and misinformation spread about Islam in recent times started with 9/11. The community is under increasing attack. This level of hate is ignored by the government, media and authorities. Where’s the Cobra meeting? Words of reassurance? Funding for security, so they can feel safe?
These signs should be on every hiking trail in Oregon and across the US .
Nigel Farage admitting Brexit has failed whilst blaming independent institutions like the OBR proves he was always a heckler, not a leader. Blaming external scapegoats for cold, hard economic reality is classic grift. How much longer will voters tolerate this total lack of accountability? 🇬🇧

The funniest - and least discussed - aspect of this is that Farage, having reportedly told RefUK he'd only lead them if compensated for the £1m a year income he had outside politics, pocketed their five million, then kept earning from outside interests at the same rate anyway. He scammed even them.
Important, because Farage's defence for not declaring Harborne's £5m 'gift' has always been very specific: he did not decide to stand until 3rd of June. Turns out this deal was struck mid-May (confirmed by RefUK) and facilitated by Farage's other big donor, convicted felon 'Posh' George Cotrell. 🧐
There's always been some dishonesty in politics across the political spectrum, but the current level of dishonesty from RW people talking about migration is unprecedented
Robert Jenrick (7pm) tweeting about "30,000 military age men rampaging through Spanish territory" long after the return rate was over 90%
Cool use of ChatGPT means invading your kids privacy through AI because you’re afraid to talk with them. The privacy impact of AI needs talking about much, much more. Lots of other fears are discussed, but privacy is (as so often) forgotten.
Ceuta is in Africa. The Moroccans have been returned but on X & elsewhere ReFuK is still spouting Russian destabilisation propaganda. Given one of their lot is in prison as a traitor for Russia you’d think they’d be careful about spreading Russia’s BS. Questions should be asked.
"First they came for the EU. Then the ECHR. They say leaving both will mean taking back control. It’s all lies. What they actually plan to take away is 100+ years of hard won worker’s rights, children’s rights, women’s rights, HUMAN rights, all of which make YOUR life better." via We Demand UK
Little by little, a picture is emerging – one that shows how Reform UK has been funded and by whom. Each new detail raises more questions for Farage and the coterie around him.
The tangled financial web at the heart of Reform UK
Nigel Farage’s £5m gift, the Cottrell family’s links and donations, and Richard Tice’s business dealings form part of an increasingly clear nexus of relationships

There's no reason a politician should have a better healthcare plan than any of their constituents regardless of military service. I say this as a Veteran.
Good points raised re Infantino & WorldCup. It’d be a complete sell off, more half time show etc. Ticket prices were insane too at this WorldCup . He may get support from small FIFA members wanting to benefit from revenue. It’ll require promises for support outside commercialisation.
Food growers & farmers are increasingly experiencing climate breakdown harvests That means higher prices - and more food insecurity. Politicians have been quiet on this growing crisis - but silence isn't good enough when our food supply is at risk. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
More than half of England officially in drought - Environment Agency
The drought declarations follow an exceptionally hot and dry period, which has hit rivers, crops and nature.

Worth repeating, the 'tough new visa rules' were designed specifically for care workers and their family members. If it's not going to work for them, it won't work for anyone else caught by the cruelty of the rules. Bin the whole thing.
Good news. But Rayner's point that it is un-British and unfair, as well as economically and politically counterproductive, to change the rules retrospectively applies to other workers on medium- skilled work visas (technicians/chefs/etc) www.thetimes.com/uk/healthcar...
After 17 and a half years today is my last day working in the NHS. I've worked under 12 Health secretaries. Every single one made it harder for us to look after patients and pursued an agenda of privatisation and outsourcing. The NHS thrives in spite of, not because of it’s political leadership.
I think it demonstrates the level of genuine power billionaires hold in the world that Amnesty International are now more scared of calling out human rights abuses caused by JK Rowling than those caused by numerous global dictators.
Just to be clear, when people like Musk say ‘Christian’, they just mean white.
Musk's daughter Viv has something to say to her father.
A bit overwhelmed this morning with my words quoted in the Metro, Standard, Mirror, Independent and even in Australia, but crickets, i’m told from the Times, Telegraph, Guardian and Daily Mail. I always ruminate about how I might have said it better, because the message is too important to mess up.
Today London Trans Pride was full of celebration, defiance, joy, tears, pride and protest. 150K trans+ people, allies, parents, partners, & children saying “ENOUGH” at the cruelty & blatant discrimination being targeted at trans+ people in the UK - much of it from our current government!
150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.
