What happened in the interim period is, they realised that they are holding all the microphones, so they can decide on the public’s behalf what is and isn’t real, and nobody can stop them doing it.
All I’ll say about this COVID revisionism from The Sensibles is they conveniently forget 227’000+ died in the UK. Every iota of that statistic was someone with family, friends, dreams, and a life (no matter how long or short) abruptly ended due to shocking incompetence and corruption from the state
covid is important because it was a concrete lesson in how far the state would go to protect its citizens (not very far), and which populations it was willing to sacrifice in order to prop up business owners (the elderly, disabled, health workers and every part of the informal economy)
What if capitalist social relations forced us into false binaries we wouldn’t have to choose between if we actually sought to change the system itself?! What then?! Also, don’t make Covid the ‘Brexit of Education’. It’s been a long time since educational success led to social mobility.

Does the “reputational damage” include Amnesty sacking Joanne for skiving off on her duties when working for the charity back in the late 1980s, as she was too busy writing her shitty wizard books than documenting human rights issues in Francophone Africa?

Question for Amnesty. Trans rights have regressed in the UK. That’s undeniable. The organisations you are apologising to have celebrated these rights being eroded. Are you really that weak that you can’t in good faith defend calling them anti-rights? Because they very clearly fucking are.
