important to remember this is not new information and was known at the time. a choice was made to conflate Berger's dispute with her local party and the serious crimes she was a victim of, and that's on the part of journalists as well as Berger herself.

So Luciana Berger was abused by a fascist who is now a Tory candidate despite his criminal conviction over it, but at the time she allowed everyone to think that the whole thing was about "the antisemitic Labour left"?

I remember one time when some journo cunt died (who had literally killed his fucking wife) and all the other journo cunts on twitter started eulogising him like he was a great and lovely man, even when it was pointed out he had killed his wife. Now to check the reaction to Rod Liddle dying

Incredible shit here: the guy Badenoch is defending was sent to prison for sending racist abuse to the MP Luciana Berger. Who then did a whole series of interviews and columns talking about her criminal harassment by Nazis, in a manner intended to make listeners believe it was done by Labour members

Even I am taken aback at the new and surprising ways these people find to insult the public’s intelligence and make it more clear the only operative professional standard in force is “LOL fuck you”

Badenoch said: "So I want to be very clear, and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis to the Conservative Party.
"Joshua Bonehill-Paine is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on anti-Semitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he is somebody who had been previously convicted for this, but he is someone has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew he had caused previously.
"He's going up and down the country training people and the Conservative Party believes in second chances.
"This is not just someone that we've picked up who's a convicted criminal, this is somebody who is actively working to help communities, especially Jewish communities and this is what I want to see.
"I want second chances for people, for people who've learned their lessons, for people who are showing that they know what they did was wrong.
"What I don't want to see is early release of people who have no contrition whatsoever, who don't care, and who are going to be out on the streets actually harming people.

Just to get this clear, it's more politically disqualifying in the UK to have been a supporter of the Leader of the Opposition between 2015 and 2019 than it is to have been a neo-nazi convicted of harassing a Jewish MP and inciting racial hatred against Jews.

I would like to apologise for telling people to ‘show some god damn respect for a dead bloke’ when Sir Oswold Mosley died. I’m not online much and, had I known about his misdemeanours, I’d have probably said something more like ‘if you haven’t got anything nice to say don’t say anything at all’ 🙏

1988: Climate scientist James Hansen tells US Senate that climate change means more extreme, weather, eg both droughts & torrential rains Smart people: hm, better build reservoirs 1989: Margaret Thatcher privatises English & Welsh water, thus leaving the building of reservoirs to market forces

I am hearing Rod Liddle split open and a million tiny Rod Liddles spilled out of his body and ate him while he desperately tried to receive the light of Islam and failed to recite the Shahada. Even now he looks up from Jahannam. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!

That's insane. Journalists should only ever be the politician they're questioning's spouse or friend from Eton or an in-law or someone they met through a mutual friend at the Spectator garden party or a former minister or a fellow columnist at the same paper. But never an advisor that's too corrupt.

I could easily end Nigel Farages whole career by calling him 'Nasty Fartrage', but I'm taking the high ground and publicly supporting him instead

"It also detected an “unintended consequence” of the ban: the proportion of parents who didn’t know their child had used social media increased by 10%." Spookily enough, this complacency side effect is precisely one of the things we warned about with this and the Online Safety Act in the UK.

Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...
