Funny how many years I spent trying to show I wasn't like other men, but kinder and gentler. Now some people treat me like an even bigger threat than I was perceived then. None of it is based on anything I've done and most often I was the one being abused and threatened.

Current and former owners of Last Ditch could not be reached by phone, email or social media. However, Last Ditch did share on Instagram that the Globe story allegedly misconstrued statements from Noire, and urged community members to stop harassing Noire. "It is neither productive, progressive, nor valiant to attack a Black patron. He has been a collaborator and performer of Last Ditch for a while, and he deserves to speak his mind about accountability and repair from the bar," the Last Ditch statement reads. "There are so many misconceptions due to the disorganization of the Globe article. He did not call for the bar to be firebombed. Further, he did not disparage the owner for being homeless. "As a result of this abysmal journalism, he has been getting additional threats, slurs, harassment, and is being reported to the police over something he did not do," Last Ditch continued. "This is not supporting us at Last Ditch, and it is, at its core, anti-Blackness hysteria."

So the message of this research out of China, where you were seeing a lot of kids using A.I. to help them, was that when they were using the A.I., they were getting things done faster. But it turned out that the skills they were learning were not holding, that their actual personal performance, at least in the way we traditionally measure it, was degrading. What do you think when you hear that? The last part — I completely agree. Try to get a kid to do long division right now. The multiplication table is starting to be forgotten. Doing square roots, my goodness. Basic math is being forgotten. Does it matter? That’s my question for you. Yeah. I don’t think it does. I don’t think it does. But there must be some set of skills that matter. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But maybe not those. We’re going to discover new ones. Just maybe not those. There are a lot of skills that don’t matter. My first confession, I actually don’t know my address.
