I'm glad the assisted suicide bill didn't pass, but I'm also sad. it brings me relief, but no pleasure. I believe terminally-ill people should have the right to choose their time of passing. but under prevailing social conditions, it is impossible to implement without becoming a euthanasia program.

A wonderfully impressive commemorative sculpture, titled ‘Spioráid Ban Chiarraí’ was unveiled in Tralee Town Park yesterday. It honours the revolutionary women of the county - I was honoured to be on the committee which choose this particular submission. Isn’t she formidable, as were those women.
