i cannot get over how funny the moderation tag on this is
"Prudery is the enemy of art" - Soviet poster, 1980s
When you get two cats, how do they decide which one will have a tiny chirp like a pixie’s doorbell and which one will wail like the ghost of a jilted bride?
research has actually become a lot harder now that google doesn't really recognize booleans anymore
i’m never gonna be able to fire a cruise missile yet the question of using my tax dollars for them has never been up for debate
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Spotted these around York, I would love to see other towns and cities take this up with wrapped up utilities boxes using local artists work. #Referenceimages #Environmentreferences
He stole their money. Thats what actually happened here. At a good company, that money would have funded dev for all those people to learn, grow, and work on the next game. He fired them to take that money.
he got the bonus *because* he laid those people off, that's how it works
Pride är viktigt. För de som kommit ut. För de som inte kommit ut. För de som inte riktigt vet. För oss som har barn eller andra som är bögar, lesbiska eller trans. Och för att visa att allt är ok.
These fuckers have enough self-awareness to know that what they're doing is shameful. That makes it worse.
Why is everything so transparently evil now?
Call me old fashioned, but I would simply not link my financial security to a man known for erratic drug-fueled meltdowns, banning people on a whim, and who also repeatedly posts white supremacist content
oh good the full self-driving of money has finally arrived
One thing I’m noticing is that one rogue person not embedded with the team (or on the team but not empowered to drive decisions) will do or say some bullshit with genAI, even if it doesn’t reflect the team’s practices. and it is MUCH harder to dispel that narrative once it’s out there.
1. In an incredible new landmark review, the Health Council of the Netherlands has declared that gender-affirming care for trans youth works, reducing wait times is "morally urgent," and regret is rare. It is the latest of many Euro countries to advance care. Subscribe to support our journalism.
Landmark Official Dutch Review Recommends Trans Youth Care, Call For Expanding Treatment
The review finds that wait times must be shortened, that few people detransition, and that trans youth care has enormous benefits.

Have to assume this is done on purpose to create the twin illusions that (1) “everybody” is using it and (2) that the results of using it are actually good
A new example of Meta shithousery. This is a post of mine on Instagram (left). Click the dots top right and this advisory note appears (right). I never use ai, never will. Why would they do this? Who benefits? Are they just trying to make viewers think everything is genAI so they just accept it?
The @prokotv.bsky.social kickstarter came in today and, oh my, is it humbling to try and draw a skull from a 3D model rather than a still image. The photo of gesture drawings might be my favourite page in either book.
If I ever was able to start or run a studio, one of the key elements I'd bake into everyone's contract would be a very clear clause on profit sharing. Game does well, team should do well, not just execs. I'm so tired of teams taking the brunt of the work, and getting a sliver of the reward.
That "coincidentally" is doing a lot of work.
'“You tend to be promoted more quickly if you’re in STEM subjects – and coincidentally, STEM subjects tend to be male-dominated, which drives lots of these gender-based effects that we see.”' (Liam Gibson) Original research is open access here: royalsocietypublishing.org/rsos/article...
Climate change will manifest as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer until you're the one calmly stating "we're encased in flame"
Kid1, who is both an conductor and engineer for CN and has driven trains through SK wildfires himself, just sent me this video from Ontario. When I tell you they arent paid enough!!! vt.tiktok.com/ZSXkuEadE/
I genuinely can’t believe this is really happening. We need the night. This is some of the most dystopian stuff I have ever seen in my entire life.
Thanks, I *do* hate it www.pcmag.com/news/fcc-app...
I saw a post where someone made the connection that a company laying you off right after your product comes out is pretty much stealing your wages from you and, yeah. They’re double dipping, getting all the profit and not having to pay for the team that generated it.

hardly the worst part of this, but an utterly needless shovelful of salt in the wound
