If someone tries to rain on your parade, poke them in the eye with your umbrella. Trans Rights Are Human Rights

Ok, so Madonna who's attained a level of success, wealth, critical acclaim and global adoration from the public and her peers that Roisin Terfy could only dream of has jumped on the 'TQ bandwagon'? 🙄 This same Madonna who in the 1970s was dancing with us in underground queer NY nightclubs... 1/

Tweet from Roisin Murphy "No, Madonna has no such excuse for supporting the TQ+ bandwagon or for not calling out its inherent homophobia. Perhaps she just doesn’t care that children who would’ve grown up to be gay are being medicalised and harmed before they have the maturity to know who they are. Strange that."

Let's talk about JK Rowling's 'bearded men'... I want to vent something that's been on my mind: The way transphobic groups and individuals are also actively homophobic. I've experienced it first hand, and know many others have too. 1/

First time I heard this vial meme quote today (and there’s no consensus on its original author) but it perfectly sums up a lot of concern with AI: “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.”

Read the Facebook comments written by Sandie Peggie, the transphobic & racist nurse currently being championed by TERFs. Then ask yourself: if you were a person with Pakistani heritage and you were in hospital, would you feel happy & confident being looked after by this woman?

Nothing is more indicative of institutional corruption than this. What we know about the Free Speech Union is its direct connection to American authoritarianism. This is why I turn up at their meetings with a microphone. The GCs groups are not independent; they are a subsidiary.

You only have to look at the veneration of the recently deceased Rod Liddle by prominent women in the "gender critical" movement (Kathleen Stock, Rosie Duffield etc.) to know that their claim to be "protecting women" is utter nonsense.

If someone has committed domestic abuse in their life, that should be mentioned most especially by our national broadcaster. To not do so, while releasing endless fawning obituaries, is to be complicit in societal misogyny and the erasure of victims.

Rod Liddle spent years spouting divisive and hateful rhetoric - turning other people’s lives into clickbait, culture wars and newspaper copy for money. Now the privileged media class are passing judgment from the safety of their TV studios and opinion pages on the very people who he targeted

Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died
yesterday.
If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

I am saddened by the tone of commentary in this place about my former BBC colleague.
The level of vitriol seems more suited to the other place. I worked with Rod at the Today programme. He took no prisoners, but he was witty and personally capable of genuine warmth. My sympathy to his family.

Your reminder Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids" in The Spectator, but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd" in The Guardian. Abhorrent.

Rod Liddle

A teenage girl, a maths teacher and a righteous tabloid fury

I never found out because the one thing stopping me from being a teacher was that I could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids. It seemed to me virtually impossible not to, and I was convinced that I'd be right in there, on day one. We're talking secondary school level here, by the way and even then I don't think I'd have dabbled much below year ten, as it is now called. I just thought we ought to clear that up early on. At my old comprehensive school a few teachers were known to be schtupping the pupils; one of them, a female teacher who was extremely foxy in a Pot Noodle scuzzy kind of way she copped off with some fifth-form lad, and another teacher (a man with a guitar and aGuardian

Should it really be a crime to look at child pornography?

I wanted to look at some pictures of child pornography from the internet this week and then tell you all about them, but I couldn'tHow absurd the law is. But at least it is an appropriate reflection of our collective neurosis and confusion about paedophilia generally. The one laudable and necessary aim - to protect children from abuse - has become warped by our consuming, obsessive hatred for those who find children sexually attractive. There is no causal link between viewing child porn and abusing children. And even if there were, it would not be sufficient, within the philosophy of our judicial system, to simply assume that an unpleasant penchant for the former

The GCs are uniting in their grief over Rod Liddle's death, a man who assaulted his young pregnant girlfriend and said he couldn't be a teacher because he'd rape the kids. He was also a vicious racist, long before it was so profitable. He hated trans people, so, to these 'feminists' he's a hero.

We just lost someone I would never in a million years have been expected to be friends with, or probably even to have made peace with...

Gutted about Rod Liddle, he was a great man. I take huge pride in having been regular contributor to his show, and I appreciated his support for my writing very much. I know full well what the online sisterhood think about this but I don't care in the slightest.

Oh no! I really liked Rod, had a drink with him a couple of times, and did his show every month. He was always so kind about my work, and we had a total laugh every time I was on the programme. Awful news.

Rod Liddle’s dead: • He can’t sue you for libel, defamation or the rest. • His admission of guilt to assulting his domestic partner to obtain a police caution makes the claim he was a domestic abuser reasonable regardless. • He can’t perve at 14 year olds either.

So let me get this straight - in the eyes of gender critical activists, a trans woman using a toilet/changing room, like we do in every liberal democracy in the industrialised world are irredeemable predators, but an (alleged) domestic abuser who is also homophobic and misogynistic is somehow ok?

If you don't know who this person is that these feminists are mourning the loss of, it's not for me to speak ill of the dead as he can do that well enough for himself so do a quick Google for 'Rod Liddle', even his Wiki page gives a little taster of who this man was...

Rod Liddle, who once wrote in The Spectator that he couldn’t work as a teacher because he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from shagging the kids, has died aged 66. I won’t be shedding any tears, personally.

That’s quite the precedent Robert Jenrick is setting. Martine law works both ways, but wouldn’t expect a Reform UK MP to have a clue about international politics or law (other than his extensive experience in Moscow). Reform UK don’t care about: Smuggling Piracy Fishing

A lot of people don’t know this but social media algorithms de-emphasize the people you follow to push new creators instead. On Instagram tap the Instagram logo, which gives a drop menu. Select “Following” to ensure you see the accounts you follow, not the ones Instagram wants you to see.
