Not for *government duties* for his role as leader of the National Party for a party *fundraiser* for the *election* Surely this is outside the bounds of what the Air Force should be used for?? Seems like an enormous breach of his access to public assets! www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

Christopher Luxon defends using Air Force flight to attend National Party fundraiser

The major party in govt not being "legally" allowed to share a bill with another major party in parliament in order to get their support to pass it, has to be the most stupidest excuse I've ever heard. Oh look, and it came from our Education Minister... #nzpol

National wants to show Labour the social media ban bill, but 'we can't', education minister says

The education minister says she hopes to get a copy of the social media ban bill to Labour's caucus this week, after previously saying legal reasons were preventing her from doing so.

Every election cycle National spreads fear about what the Greens and TPM will do in coalition. Remind me again, when have Labour's partners ever threatened to bring down the Government? Will media push back against NACT when they spread the same nonsense this election? I'm not holding my breath.

[🤓post] This is the pile of financial assets that RBNZ is holding for the purpose of 'liquidity management'. See the big red hump? That's Govt bonds that RBNZ bought during Cvid (aka QE). RBNZ's been selling them off for a few years. 'Green' is the low interest cash sprayed at banks (FLP) [🧵 1/n]

Back in the day, when we built stuff, RBNZ gave Govt special accounts so Govt could spend millions building houses etc without selling bonds to investors. RBNZ basically just gave Govt an overdraft. The ghouls hate this shit - where's the rent in RBNZ financing state houses for public use? [Ends]

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

i understand this is a stupid question but can anyone who understands #nzpol more than me explain what TOP's deal is? on face value a lot of their policies seem to superficially align with the Greens, but they're not the Greens because...?
