Only just found out about this For the record, you don't get multiple genetic markers and one of the most effective medications known to science with 'social constructs' Channel 4, this is, in scientific parlance, an absolute fu*king disgrace that will genuinely endanger lives #c4 #ADHD

New Channel 4 documentary, The Great ADHD Myth?, seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct

Turn failing water firms into not-for-profit cooperatives, MPs and mayors tell PM. Issues: Corporate debt would be transferred to co-ops. Co-ops would borrow for investment at commercial rates, not govt rates. High debt and debt servicing cost, higher bills. Need public ownership.

I visited Dounreay Nuclear power plant as a school child 48 years ago. It stopped generating in 1994, yet it is still being decommissioned, with a workforce of 1,000+. So don't tell me that wind power curtailment is expensive, or about the landfill of benign, end of life, turbine blades.

In the same way that “an adder” is the old English “a nadder” an “a nickname” is “an eke-name”, “a narcissist” is a corruption of the older English word “an arsehole”.

When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.

The Times: Net zero risks blackouts. Below a photo of French wildfires.

The new Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has acknowledged that Israel is committing war crimes and that Britain has a moral and legal responsibility to respond. Today, Ellie Chowns MP has written to him calling on the Government to match those words with action, by ending all arms sales to Israel.

A two-page letter from Dr Ellie Chowns, Defence Lead for the Green Party of England and Wales, to the new Defence Secretary, Wes Streeting, dated 21 July 2026. The letter congratulates him on his appointment before urging him to end the UK's complicity in the genocide in Gaza. It notes Streeting's previous public statements that Israel is committing war crimes and that the UK has a moral and legal responsibility to respond. The letter cites findings from the International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court and UN bodies, argues that UK arms exports and participation in the F-35 programme risk breaching international law, and asks Streeting three questions about ending arms sales and military cooperation with Israel, recognising UN findings, and implementing international legal rulings. It concludes by urging him to match his previous statements with action by ending all UK arms sales to Israel.Bild

We were honoured to be represented by our Trade Union Liaison Officer and other members at the unveiling of the memorial to people from Portsmouth who lost their lives fighting with the International Brigade against fascism in Spain. Unfortunately, the fight against fascism continues today.

I'm old enough to remember when the entire British right had a month long meltdown about "foreign interference" when Obama said something mildly disobliging about Brexit. The Trump administration pouring millions of dollars into far right political groups in the UK? Not a peep

Lucy Powell: "What [Andy Burnhams] saying is that the political & economic model that has governed this country for the last 40 years.. he wants to radically rewrite that political & economic model" 30 seconds later later: "He is going to stick to our manifesto"

The way Good Morning Britain interviewed Zack Polanski was absurd. They were basically insisting that “net zero” (aka climate policies) are a long term thing project, and that we have to deal with the here and now as well. Which they’re asserting means more fossil fuel investment. They can’t grasp..

I am once again begging Hollywood to stop using the Greek alphabet for an Ancient World movie, if they can't afford to even throw a couple of quid at anyone with an inkling of the language. Unless they really think audiences are dying to see THS THDPSSSSPS
