and when Dora saw the breadth of her domain she wept, for there were no more worlds to explorer

I feel like the way of dealing with such behaviour is to look these people right in the eye and say, very gently, "You think your right to park matters more than homes these children?" Then when they reply just repeat it with slightly different emphasis.
Hundreds slam proposals to turn car park into children's home in Bromley
Plans to build a children’s home on a car park in Bromley have been slammed by nearby residents who call the current parking situation “a…

it is a good primer but I think the Casey view (which is unchallenged here) that we need a lengthy public debate/consensus before major reform is the wrong way round. We've had loads of reports, analysis, etc. We need PM/govt to decide & get on with it..
It's because they are winning now and will win.
Loomer is currently in Kyiv “doing her own research”. She could probably have just posted the first six words of paragraph four, but I won’t be churlish. If the Right Wing Nut Influencersphere finally gets on board with Ukraine it’s a good thing.
You will literally never be this powerful again, why are you putting a bunch of figures from the past in and having a slew of “attends Cabinet” types from the next generation? “Attends Cabinet” is a choice you make when you’re weak!
This was published today in 1969 While Apollo 11 was on it s way to the moon Greatest correction ever
Yes. The right often claims that immigration leads to low trust societies, but I think there is a stronger case that low trust societies lead to immigration scepticism
When I worked in a rickety old hotel on my ski season circa 2010 we decided to tackle this blocked drain in the kitchen with a cocktail of products. It melted the pipe and dropped through two floors into the cellar like that scene in alien!
Wife was pleased that I cleaned the disgusting mouldy wardrobe in the spare room while she was away with friends. Did not tell her I had to go to hospital after gassing myself by mixing cleaning products. I still believe it should warn about that more clearly on the labels.
This is a fun set of replies immediately. Skills are hard.
Thought experiment- if you were suddenly appointed to do your sibling’s job, how badly would you suck at it?
Aside from the hypocrisy of saying this whilst having recently served a government committed to that goal, why would you publish this take unasked for *in this weather*
Like this is the exact way to reclaim the symbol from the racists.
Honestly it is mean to pick on the Kirby Estate in Bermondsey in London by using a picture of their homes. They put up flags just for football tournaments and have watch parties, paint murals, for men‘s and women’s tournaments, and there aren’t only 🏴 flags up They are good people, not nationalists
Consider myself a man of tools and I have been humbled by this excellent thread.
Look, let's get this straight, once and for all. It's DUCK TAPE 🦆, not duct tape. I brought RECEIPTS. Modern duck tape is cloth-backed, polyurethane coated, with a pressure-sensitive adhesive & a distinctive silvery color from a powdered aluminum pigment. But duck tape is much older...
Every lifelong football fan I've ever met is like "I think players are supposed to serve their suspension" and every adult convert is like "the Archon of Constantinople's epistle on the Pentacostine rites of the eucharist clearly states handballs are mandatory."
“Automatic” in the FIFA regs/code just means that there’s no need for additional process—i.e., an investigation or disciplinary proceeding—to determine the applicable sanction. It does not mean the sanction is unreviewable. It does not mean that Article 27 cannot be invoked to suspend the sanction.
Four-year-old just told his toddler sister “it’s time for the hunt” and they both left the room. Not my business
liquid Starmerism: going out on a big announcement about tough choices the party has to make, but the amount of money announced is somehow both more than he’s actually funded and less than it needs to be. he’s competitively useless
EXC: Andy Burnham was briefed on the Defence Investment Plan before it was published. But I understand he was *not* told that he would have to find an extra £4.7bn to fund it in his first budget. This has come as a surprise today.
Well they're not going to be on bloody low alert are they
She has a neck the size of an adult human, legs that are just as long and an unforgettable coat. And she’s missing.
Puss just made a one way trip to the vet. A rescue cat we've had for three years. Pretty sad will miss the little arsehole.

Another of those "Chamberlain said this, went great for him" / "then what happened? Keep reading it's probably on the very next page" in the wild.
What I love about this is the guy has obviously heard the phrase and thought, that’s pretty cool I’m gonna use that.
Everyone on X and elsewhere who called for a violent response should be charged with incitement. Everyone involved in the pogrom should be locked up with exemplary sentences. Govt should make it clear that will be the response in future anywhere else. Enough.
Like, rarely, sometimes, for a political party, the national interest, their political interest line up on a project that is essentially free, and they just don't do it. I simply do not understand why they refuse to make the political weather here.
Just think the better question always is "is it good?" If a writer was assisted by AI or not they are responsible for their output. AI will not produce a masterwork alone it's always derivative. We can just skip the "did they use a newfangled type writing machine" stage and focus on the quality.
Big let down, to be honest
