One thing's for sure. When Trump had a working brain, he never was present when any child got a vaccine shot or took care of any sick children. Now, in his senility, he has nothing real to remember. This leads to this level of dangerous delusions. You'd think that would be a news story.

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet. This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

I saw a comment the said we aren’t “angry enough.” But all we are is angry. Our veins circulate it like acid. It cracks our sternums. It poisons and paralyzes us. We hiss and spit at each other, all impotent, helpless rage. We don’t need more anger. We need more direction.

In competitive authoritarianism (US right now) there's often a "loyal opposition" that's essential to the regime. They are so wedded to "decorum," they go along with rites & rituals that help regime prop up veneer of normalcy, undermining clear view of regimes actions & aims.

A Senator makes a truthful statement, protected by First Amendment and Speech/Debate Clause, and gets investigated by DOJ. An ICE agent shoots and kills an unarmed mom, and they won’t even cooperate with local law enforcement.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said. That is called murder when they do that. Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.
