Will only become more and more true— one of the many reasons why I don't filter my perception of the Palestine question thru left vs liberal factionalism is because the actually pertinent divide is establishment vs anti establishment. But the establishment is facing immense pressure to concede here.

An actually underrated potential positive for Dems in light of Abdul’s victory is that it gives traditionally centrist or otherwise poor Dems on Palestine on an easy out for polarizing against AIPAC and pro-Israel politics— they’re trying to cost Dems the Senate.

A big majority of Americans want the U.S. government to stop sending American $$ to Israel's reckless regime and to end the war in Iran. Yet AIPAC is threatening to spend to deliver the Republicans a critical Senate seat in Michigan, helping a Trump stooge like Mike Rogers who will keep funding Netanyahu's wars and do nothing to stop Trump's Iran War. This is exactly why so many Democrats like me have rejected AIPAC.

i do think you could make a weird metaphysical argument for the idea that the pop culture of certain countries is informed by their youth's desire to sublimate and not think about the evil things the country does but the thing is... this is kind of normal

Also it's fascinating to me that I, an Israeli-American who grew up mostly in America but with Israeli family, am so insecure about my own knowledge of Israeli culture while complete outsiders are wholly confident in their ability to parachute in and accurately analyze Israelis.

No sane person anywhere would have said that Israel should have done nothing after October 7th. But nothing can justify a genocide, war crimes, and ethnic cleansing. Netanyahu and the Israeli nationalists took any moral high ground Israel had and buried it beneath the bodies of 64,000 children

You have any sources for what you're saying here, because I don't think OFF-DUTY combatants (some of whom are also American citizens) at a music festival, diplomats, peace activists and Thai migrant workers are fair targets under any rules of war I know of.

The overwhelming majority of the victims on 10/7 were Israeli IOF and police who are free game. I don't support any civilian casualties, but going after the military and police is just them defending themselves from an occupation force. Period.
