I wish people who stop being covid cautious would just own the ways it’s a capitulation to ableist authoritarian power in exchange for re-entry into the mainstream. Instead they gotta turn to the few of us still holding the line and say shit like “asking people to mask is the real authoritarianism.”
POEM TO CHEER A FRIEND Remember that no one is okay all the time - even a pelican gets sad (worst line of this poem, but I’m leaving it in) and that we were put here to rise and fall and fall again like the tides. We are all brave. Every morning, we are brave.
Hey, can you write me a poem to cheer me up? Going through a hard mental health period right now, tbh.
I think that the double whammy of COVID and genocide really affected my ability to trust people. Seeing how quick individuals were to throw the vulnerable to the wolves for selfish reasons and rationalize the mass murder of Palestinians really messed with me in a way that I still can't fully process
You’re in her dms, I’m sitting on my race car bed making vroom vroom noises
Anyway. IMO, climate action from the government, as well as action in disease prevention, both seem to be weak tea, and probably mostly stifled by lobby groups.

Here is what disability means to me: There are things I cannot do, that have nothing at all to do with my will or determination or sense of responsibility no matter how often other people assume it does, And no matter how I have participated in harming myself and others by internalizing that.

Popping in with a PSA, as we are now into year 7 of living in a world with Covid-19... ...wearing a respirator mask in all situations of potential infection is extremely wise. Do it for yourself. For your loved ones. For your community. Covid makes everything worse. Don't add to the bad, friends.
The nostalgia is the strangest part. People don’t miss the institutions - they miss the illusion that someone, somewhere, was steering. But nostalgia is bullshit. It’s the mind clinging to a version of the world that never actually worked - only felt stable because the cracks were hidden from view.

Cracked, flawed, dented, still irresistible. I dropped my phone and thought of you.
no i’m not “detail oriented” that’s where the devil is
It's really cool how all those maskless dudes crowding into CES will remain unharmed from any viral pathogens. /s
