yeah but a key difference here is that free parks and free public schools build a healthier and more educated population and free parking turns a bunch of adults into entitled children who shit their pants on the internet.
Someone should propose to abandon the I5RQ freeway expansion and spend the money on Moda. Would love to see how the current sides shake out.
When are we going to acknowledge that dundon is not a good negotiator and seeing this behavior from anyone else would warrant remedial classes in leadership and negotiation.

Morillo happens to have a mastery of language, unique turns of phrase, & great comedic timing, so her one liners get extra attention. (Plus the other reasons young women of color get scrutiny).
We choose to build bike lanes in this city not because it’s easy, but because we want to make driving hard.
Proud of these stats. (Also just to be clear, "off" includes coasting without assist in addition to pedaling without the motor).
Norm Charlatan@normcharlatan.bsky.social · 2w agoA random e-bike summer observation, but over the past month or so, I’ve successfully lowered the amount of assistance from the motor, which not only increases the battery range but also suggests that my physical fitness is improving.
Mamdani demonstrates that, even when you cannot do something, there's a lot of different ways not to do it. Those ways can be politically powerful.

This is funny because Jones Beach and the Poconos suck ass and it says a lot about human psychology, yeah man whatever we were doing at those ages are going to be your best childhood memories! My kids' are going to be riding bikes to get ice cream in a great city.

I like Brandon, would have ranked him highly, hope he runs again. But IMO this is a blessing in disguise for progressives. Very little chance Novick does not rank top 3; If he won, Mullen would have bumped TKL, who is clearly most vulnerable, and not markedly different. /

I don't want others to make the same mistake and asked the Auditor's Office to update a few key places (website, residency requirements section of the guide, webinar).
one time when i was like 20 maybe my then-boyfriend and his parents (who were quite wealthy and conservative, and we didn't like them) and some other random extended family members were going to the coast for the weekend and i volunteered to go by to feed the dog
Three doable things that Somerville is doing different from other Vision Zero stars: 1. Speed humps. They're everywhere. Not just on local streets, and not on a BS petition or speed study basis. 2. They're not punting on doing an all-ages bike network. 3. Exclusive ped phases. They're miraculous.

A Senate amendment by @senkhanhpham.bsky.social required exactly two things: private capital and a share of gross revenue. It died in the rush of a short session. The idea was never refuted — it wasn’t even allowed to be considered.
