mostly music appreciation, some programming stuff here and there, a bit of systems thinking

There's this caff near where I live that does a rather nice crispy very sweet cut up pancake thing with compote. Unfortunately, they insist on calling it Kaiserschmarrn, which annoys the fuck out of me everytime I see the place, cause a proper Kaiserschmarrn is quite different

Two adjacent allotment plots are currently empty next to my mom's, which I guess is the reason this raptor is visiting more often. I think it might be a buzzard, but not sure. Hope it sticks around and deals with rodents regularly 😃

I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠

Black Pus: Line 6 DL4 captures a live loop from oscillator on kick. This jam is pretty simple: vocals, a high twirling oscillator sound that can be turned off or be pitched super low with a whammy. at the end i kick in the loop, which doesn’t really add that much . Mainly its the whammy dive bombs

New @chirpendale.bsky.social jam is bonkers. Would love to know how the synths are working, sounds like the drums are triggering midi sometimes? www.instagram.com/reel/Dbbq3cF...

Despite the slapstick and uneven pacing, I can heartily recommend the Korean series The WONDERfools. It's kinda a bit like Scooby Doo meets superheroes, just without the dog. Worth it for the finale alone, it's great to laugh so much during an extended fight scene

One thing I appreciate about Role Play with Kaley Cuoco, apart from it being damn good fun, is that the scenes set in Berlin are in real places. The airport is actually BER, the club chase scene is in Monarch at Kottbusser Tor, which is also the U-Bahn station she runs to, no weirdo teleport cuts.

A lot of people don’t realize the dust bowl wasn’t a natural phenomenon. It happened when agrobusiness interests dramatically transformed the plains without regard for drought, and created vicious dust storms that choked whole families to death. That’s what I think of when I read about data centers.

1960s: the computer when programmed correctly can perform trillions of operations without a single mistake: Pentium fdiv bug era: in some rare cases excel may let a bug in the CPU slip past. LLM era: we rolled 6x10E9 dice and days have 37 hours, finger count is random, your files were deleted lol.
