Trudeau's reforms weren't perfect, but undoing them makes things worse, not better. Carney of course knows this. He isn't trying to build trust. He is weaponizing democracy to extract as much capital as possible from Canada for him and his rich friends.

The point of the Senate changes Trudeau made was to restore some semblance of public trust in an institution increasingly seen as a place for political cronies when they tired of the private sector, to live out their days rubber-stamping government legislation, @supriya.bsky.social writes.

working on a new project for @aftermath.site: a semi-comprehensive, regularly-updated list of every game studio that refuses to use AI. if that sounds like your studio, message me with the reason(s) why as well as basic details about what you make. DMs open and email is nathan@aftermath.site

With the cyclospora outbreak in the states, I am glad I already resolved to do more farmer’s market shopping this year! Canadians need to be mindful that our federal government is similarly happy to dismantle public services through defunding & can create conditions for outbreak(s) here though.

FWIW: natural gas (methane) is a globally-traded commodity. Extracting it here isn’t going to make it any more affordable to NSians or make us any less affected by global oil prices. Solar on every rooftop, however,

That’s kinda what I thought. It’s really unfortunate. I imagine there would be some complexity in balancing the load across the grid. But that seems like a better use of $$$ than natural gas plants?

Since I'm already seeing plague ship misinfo in press citing the US CDC: #hantavirus is AIRBORNE. Mayo Clinic: "Infection is usually caused by inhaling hantaviruses." CDC says "through contact" but doesn't explain "contact" means inhalation. Citation: www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...

If you also suffer from seasonal allergies, I highly recommend air purifiers, having them on all the time, and buying separate ones for your bedroom, home office, and main living space. They are also good for reducing the risk of respiratory illnesses and dander from pets.

I'll say it again, this is the express purpose of disinformation. Of course they want you to believe the disinfo but at its core it's about making you think it's impossible to discern truth, that you can't believe anything you read.

Damn. We are in a bad spot when everybody becomes a conspiracy theorist. The level of distrust you have to create for regular folks to grow a third eye is immense.

This is a lie & a totally unsurprising endorsement of eugenics from a government that’s being using necropolitics to advance eugenics agendas & social murder since the day it formed. And I don’t mean this administration. I mean the US government. RFK Jr isn’t an aberration. He’s a perfect heir.

“This was not a disease that was killing healthy people. It was killing sick people”. RFK Jr. lying about the COVID19 pandemic.

So, I don't "live post" anything. Instead, I sporadically outburst. Anyway, I've collected my sporadic outbursts about this afternoon's online NS fracking session in a short thread. It wasn't great.

Just so everyone's aware, the NS gov. fracking sessions are not consultation. Even at this online session with over 100 people in attendance, the chat is disabled. It's talking heads providing bs about fracking. I guarantee they won't approve my submitted questions. What an absolute embarrassment.
