I believe in the kind of America where no matter where you grow up, the color of your skin, how you pray, you deserve equal rights in this country. You deserve to go to a good school, get healthcare when you need it, and know that you can graduate and get a good job.

one of the funniest jokes on American Dad was from a recent season where Stan and Steve are whispering very close to each other, Stan coughs and says “sorry, I have Covid.” only time it was ever mentioned.

that's another powerfully weird thing about how media handled COVID, almost no popular TV series acknowledged it even happened, even hospital drama shows, they just very deliberately never mention it I think even Grey's Anatomy only had one special episode about a COVID case

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
