The Odyssey is doing super well... ...It's time for Ulysses 31 and Andrew Garfield could pull this off.

Not puns but paronomasia. I’m intending to talk about poetry and other books here but I bet I get distracted.
"I don't understand why you, a fantasy writer, don't appreciate the value of making bargains with the fae."
Every now and then someone takes a run at me along the lines of "I don't understand why you, a scifi writer, don't appreciate 'AI'," and I'm all, motherfucker, it's *because* I'm a science fiction writer I have the positions I have, how many times do we have to fucking yell "torment nexus," my dude
Harrison Ford, the actor behind loveable scoundrels Han Solo and Indiana Jones, started his career as an on-set carpenter. That makes him a roguelike deckbuilder.

Meg is understating that the project REALLY deserves to hit its final stretch goal — rules for playing ON BlueSky or other microblogging/social platforms. I for one am VERY CURIOUS about what experimental work she’d dream up…

Amazing news from the biology centre this month, they've injected DNA into an incubating partridge egg and monitored its growth, and what hatched is confirmed to be a fully stable pheasant chick. This is a real game changer
Summoning a lemon by Jim Benton I’ve never stopped thinking about this. One of the best things I’ve ever seen
Art question 🎨 What painting, photograph, sculpture, or piece of visual art has stayed with you long after you first saw it? Not necessarily your favorite. The one that lingered.
Me, a wizard: Where hast my scrying orb gone? I cannot seem to find it anywhere in the tower... perhaps this is a cruel trick from my dark warlock rival! My Capricious and Gluttonous Familiar:
I wonder what would happen if you made Doctor Who Creative Commons. Hundreds of writers doing non continuity possibles and it’s all true because someone reversed the polarity in the tardis core.
The same thing happened to Dr. Who as happened to the rest of the entertainment industry — it went from a mature business to a growth stock.
Lots of doctor who comments in my feed. I keep describing it as a show I love without liking many episodes. If there were anything I’d be on ao3 over it’s that.
I now realize tofu is overrated. It's just a curd to me.
Wrens are usually solitary birds but when it’s cold they will sometimes huddle together for warmth. Some people call this a ‘herd’ but technically it’s known as a ‘scene’. That’s because chilled wren should be ‘scene’ and not ‘herd’.
I wrote about what it's like to read the poetry of J.H. Prynne

@n-auchterlounie.bsky.social is your wonderful train / whisky comic online anywhere? I’m trying to press it on a friend.
The time it takes to write a joke, from conception to birth, is the jestation period.
The horse op-ed is an instant classic. I can't tell you how much joy this piece gives me. It should be taught in every introductory writing class in no small part because the horse arguments are so compelling. "I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children."
"On Monday, Oedipus ate through one apple. But he was still hungry. On Wednesday he ate a whole banana. On Friday he killed an arrogant man at the crossroads and married his widow. But he was still hungry." A section, there, from THE VERY HUNGRY PATER-KILLER.
