When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.
I have a note on my phone from six years ago which simply says ’Gazpacho’. It is there to remind me how much I adore gazpacho, and I am always very happy to be reminded!

I think about this poem all the time
Americans think British people are wimps for complaining about the heat. But what you don't realise is that most British houses were actually built in Britain, a cursed island that hates us.
One of my longtime music buddies took his own life six hours ago, and I just found out about it. I need a minute. If you’re even considering it today, PLEASE hold on. Please
I’m sorry, but everyone now knows exactly what Reform stands for, so if you vote for them, you’re a nasty racist with no respect for other humans. No ‘I didn’t know’ or ‘the other parties have let me down’ excuses now. Shame on them and shame on you.
Brilliant from @carolinelucas.bsky.social on Farage’s failed Brexit experiment 👏 bylinetimes.com/2026/05/01/n...
'Nigel Farage Is the Architect of the Uk’s Decline and It’s Time for the Rest of Us to Rebuild Our Home in Europe'
The disastrous Brexit experiment imposed on us by the Reform UK leader and his allies must now be reversed, argues Caroline Lucas

Terry Pratchett is a lifelong inspiration to me as an artist and as a person. His writing changed the way I think about humanity, myself, world events, history, power, religion, death, aging, wisdom, magic, libraries, imagination, kindness, and loss. When in doubt- read a Terry Pratchett book.
our mismanagement of the environment has crossed the point of no return, the dolphins are leaving
Truly, truly, truly disgusting. Keep this Trumpist race baiting out of British politics.
My favorite part of reading is when a book gets so good you have to set it down, (finger marking the page), and just let your mind be blown for a minute before picking it back up again.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but posting “new year, new me” on social media isn’t gonna fix you. That’s what pretty new notebooks are for obviously
I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge. Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots. A thread 🧵 1/8 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

I am here to say this is not a coma specific condition
If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.
Kemi Badenoch claiming Terry Pratchett as her favourite author is wild
On National Poetry Day, the greatest poem I have ever read
I’m now a fully paid up member of the Green Party. Thank you Zack. Let’s do this !
🎉 Lots of people have said they joined the party following this interview! 💚 So in case you missed it: here's how we're going to lower people's bills, protect our NHS and fight off the far right. youtu.be/1KsgxOrgbOA?...
We call them 'people in boats' & 'illegal migrants'. Terms that describe our ancestors. We've all come to where we are. We don't own this land. We got it from someone who also didn't own it The only way to live on this planet is to share it. The only way to live is together. #GoodMorning, everyone
As a father of five kids, I totally agree with this evergreen post.
My friend just invited me to do that "January Challenge" with her. And when I asked her what it was she said "It's where I just try to make it through every day of January." Anyway, if anyone wants they can join us in struggling to survive... #januarychallenge
