The president is a pedophile. Half of Hollywood is in the Epstein files. You can’t breath the air, you can’t drink the water, some of the food is contaminated, and thousands of people and animals have been affected by the New World screwworm in 2026…and I STILL gotta go to work! I’m tired.

Mitch McConnell hasn’t been seen or heard from in 25 days in the hospital. Yet he still has a job, still getting paid, and getting unlimited world class healthcare. The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, and against guaranteed paid leave, is now getting all three.

That article in the times about young women with walking sticks?? REEKS of ableism After years of mass disabling event? Where do these authors get these ideas and prejudgments? I'd like to know... Genuinely.

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars. Even if those cars are electric. And then there’s all the parking. OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money, emissions, pollution, noise etc. Choices. Simple.

Graphic showing a 9 m wide track for metros can move as many people as a 175 m wide, 7 lane road for cars.

The cyclospora outbreak isn't only a public health issue. It's economic. Farms, produce suppliers, restaurants, grocery stores, are all going to take a hit (and likely already are) as fruits and vegetables go to waste and are left to rot because the trust is gone. If only we still had regulations...

“If you can’t cook there are services” “If you can’t support yourself just tell them & get help” “If it were really that bad support would show up” This is internalized ableism. Most of the time, help isn’t available. Support doesn’t come. Disabled people are on their own.

It feels ridiculous to be told my entire life the importance of reducing my energy usage and switching to stuff like LED bulbs and then read reports of energy prices spiking in many US communities due to data centers.

A grim reminder this 4th of July: The US has the highest incarceration rate of any independent democracy on Earth, making it a leader in mass incarceration. Far too many people are locked up in the “land of the free.”

Graph showing that the U.S. incarcerates people at a rate of 614 per 100,000. This is at least 4x higher than any other founding NATO countries.

You know this heatwave? Get used to it This is how it is now because generations before us wouldn’t heed warnings about climate change Oh, and those data centers they want to build are are building? Yeah, that’s going to make this much much worse.

For America's 250th, I read Frederick Douglass’ speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” on the House floor—for the first time in history. His speech endures as a mirror & mandate for us all—to confront our inequities while fighting for an America as good as its promise.
