Folks, who is telling high school students -- who I am sure are smart and talented and ambitious -- to cold email college professors and volunteer to do research or collaborate with them? This is not a good idea. Please stop this.

The Mohammeds, Khans, Patels, Singhs, Adebayos and Babatundes didn’t go looking for Britain….Britain went looking for them, imposed its language and, in many places, its religion, while extracting wealth and resources from their countries. History has consequences.

I was up at the buttcrack of dawn this morning when it was still dark out. It had been pouring all night. Took this picture with my phone. It isn’t even a shot of something. It just captured… I don’t know… the vibe? Regardless, I like it.

Duvets which aren't perfect squares should have some sort of marking along the top edge, as I'm sick of it being a 50/50 guess when I'm changing the sheets as to whether I've put it into the duvet cover correctly or sideways and then have to redo the whole bloody thing again.

FYI there is no "real" reason why Rome "fell." Its power waned for the usual, mundane reasons: widening gap between rich and poor, inability to maintain infrastructure, incompetent leadership, pointless wars, endless persecution of marginalized groups who performed vital labor, etc.

I’m fine with transgender for everybody, but I’m more interested in the taco truck on every corner. What happened to that? Hoping the UK can sign onto that one too as Mexican food here is… execrable. Amazed it can be so bad.
