This is ... silly? The fact that the program was "unfunded" doesn't mean it was free or that cancelling it doesn't save money. It's a real insight into how some people in government have locked themselves in a mental prison of accounting
Not many cabinet positions left. I assume Wes Streeting will soon be announced as the new Everton right back. 😉
Sky News: ...and now we're joined by Lord Glasman ... 🤦♂️
You absolute star @reid6peter.bsky.social - that’s how to welcome a mate! #Burnham
When this sorry display is a World Cup final, all the football orgs should be asking why they’ve allowed the rules and the referees to be treated with utter contempt for years. But they won’t.
they've gone too far this time - Nigella is peeved
Dearie me
the World Cup routinely gets the biggest global audiences of all tv. it simply does not need to debase itself in this way. this does not add to the game, it does not grow the audience, it does not serve any purpose but to get Gianni Infantino closer to some more famous people.
Shame the Spanish players didn't sing their national anthem. 😉
Robbie Williams singing a terrible song. Some things never change. 🤷♂️
Have we considered that only the goal at that end of the pitch is working?
i don’t think argentinian players called fernandez, martinez, messi etc *really* want to have a conversation about giving land back to its original owners
omg Argentina brought out a "THE FALKLANDS ARE ARGENTINE" banner after the win
If only there had been some sign that parking the bus for 35 minutes wouldn’t work against these guys
Argentina 🇦🇷, amazingly, has scored the majority of its goals after the 80th minute in this World Cup (Stoppage time goals plotted at 90' for simplicity)
England are losing, and John Stones is down injured. The camera cuts to Mick Jagger. Guy Mowbray says some pre-scripted thing about "He won't be feeling much satisfaction." YES BUT THERE'S A PLAYER CALLED 'STONES' DOWN INJURED. MOWBRAY! YOU HAD ONE JOB.
Can I try to make everyone feel a little better? Only eight teams have won the World Cup, ever, in its nearly century-long history. And England is one of them - and there or thereabouts for some years now. It’ll happen.
Evertonians: Tuchel is Moyes with a German accent. Shutting up shop too early?
It is mad that we have, somehow, allowed net zero - a policy common to all major parties under 5 years ago and supported by a majority of the public - to become a synoym for mad radicalism. It is doubly mad that we've allowed this to happen during the hottest summer on record.
I’m sorry, but what is ‘radical’ about the policies pursued by Miliband?
Very sad news - he was a highly knowledgeable correspondent, about Italy and the Vatican equally. (Brief Lives on Radio Four might need an hour next week, given the multitude of high profile deaths there have been recently)
