Arrived in Edinburgh for the fringe and just finished reading this excellent book - "Unsafe" Spans so many different subjects from our prison system to feminism - through the lens of countering transphobia in a world where no one should be disposable.
The Spectator tries to prove that Rod Liddle was a brilliant writer by reprinting a 'poem' Liddle wrote in 2012 that a) is racist in the most cringey, edgelordy way imaginable, and b) shows that even when travestying Oscar Hammerstein Liddle had absolutely no concept of scansion or metre.
This is always conveniently missing from any discussion. My father has always said, if you are going to tell a story, start at the beginning.

The latest from team “protect women and children” - queer children should not have ways to protect themselves and hide their identities from potentially abusive parents or guardians. Personally, I’d say that suggests a lot about what kind of parents these bigots would be, but that’s just me.

I don't want to add to any ratios here, but there have been a few incidences of 'I am deeply saddened and shocked at the reaction to the death of [X very nefarious journalist and proven abuser]' Yes, that's kind of the point. These responses act as a warning and deterrent against abusing your power.

What Roisin Murphy, Rowling & Linehan fail to understand about the LGBT+ community is that it partly exists to protect folks who are not heteronormative against bigots just like them. And if you come for one of us, you come for us all. The more they attack, the stronger we grow.
