I was just talking to a friend today about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - new books every month, totally for free, for kids ages 1-5. My son was part of the program - this is a copy of the letter that came with his last book, right after his 5th birthday.

Biggest performance improvements in the past month have just been: - Switching CPU target to include AVX2 (~10-14% on terrain gen) - Using the optimized chunk iterator I wrote months ago (~80% reduction in light propagation 😭)

I've posted this before, but I worked at a "bring tech to the government" lab for a while. We'd bring government employees out to Silicon Valley to work with us and learn Python, etc. It failed because they'd all quit at the end and triple or quadruple their salaries working for FAANG companies. 🫠
