True allyship isn’t a flag pin in June or a temporary social media graphic. It’s confronting bigotry—especially when it comes from candidates you support. If protecting a politician matters more to you than defending a marginalized community, that ally hat no longer fits. 🧢❌

Our transit network makes it very easy to get downtown but much more challenging to get anywhere else. Our radial network is both our greatest strength and our greatest weakness. New neighborhood-to-neighborhood and suburb-to-suburb transit options need to be a top priority for NITA.

Chicago urban area's relatively middling performance on recent transit ridership is despite fact that city itself has pretty high transit-to-work use compared to Seattle, for example. Enormous scale of the Chicago urban area dilutes the city's transit use. www.thetransportpolitic.com/databook/nei...

that first one is like a bullet in the back. what the fuck are you talking about? your job as a member of Congress is to identify these political games and refuse to play them. you are admitting that you are dumber than Republicans! you are admitting they outsmarted you!

This idea that Dems have to vote for anti-trans bills in order to gain power and undo them is such a brazen and obvious con. He even wraps it up by promising dignity and respect all around if he gets your vote.

Seeing an attention hungry freelancer launder such profoundly toxic TERF talking points through a blog read by some of the most influential centrists in Washington DC the same week they end federal funding for GAC coverage under Medicaid says as much about the author as it does the publication.

I think one of the thorny things that Americans simply refuse to grapple with is that post-integration political realignment in the 60-70s didn’t actually create a “liberal” and “conservative” party system it created a “proud to be a bigot” and “desperate to not look like a bigot” party system.

Transphobia, like Zionism, is one of those things that some people desperately want to pretend is not an inherently right wing opinion because they know that makes it much tougher to launder at dinner parties

this is why im not super critical of hasan, and also mamdani to an extent. its not letting them off the fucking hook, there is a REASON people, including leftists, are so critical of these figures. evil oriental dark men coming to ruin your perfect white amerikkka

Hasan Piker and Zohran Mamdani have been put “on trial” for 9/11 more so than the people responsible for the intelligence failures leading to it and the Bush era war criminals who waged a racist war of conquest for the two decades after.

My happy place remains on a bicycle. It's just such a pure love. You get to wave to people. Feel the wind on your face. Being trans it gives me some freedom at least. People gawk at my bicycle before they ever look at me.
