Let’s assume for a second AI is making you more productive. Is it making your life any better? Are you healthier? Happier? Have more free time? Have richer social lives? Greater fulfillment? I’m not being hyperbolic, the main thing AI has increased in my life is misery. How am I supposed to act?

I keep thinking about how OpenAI is a DoD vendor and a legit military target while we are in a war with a nation that has hackers and OpenAI has stated on the record that someone or something was aggressively hacking another US organization from their network… …and they didn’t notice for a week.

I work in libraries and know firsthand that we have a lot of shit we need to fix in our profession, but I’m currently accessing entertainment for only a few pennies out of my taxes and holy shit libraries are incredible. I’m so glad humanity invented them.
