Absolutely no content, regardless whether original or retweeted, represents the views of any person or panda. He/him. Apanthropic. Canadian I should probably point out, if it hasn't already been made clear by my timeline, that I really don't know anything

I’d actually like to see a mayor who focuses a bit more attention on the one mode of travel in Ottawa that actually works. Transit is unreliable and expensive. Traffic is horrible. Fixing either of these seems beyond the ability of the current City administration. Making cycling safer can be done.

Campaign email for Ottawa mayor @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social accuses competitor @jleiper.bsky.social of wanting to “force you out of your car and onto your bicycle”. What dirty, dishonest language for a city that (like most on this continent) overwhelmingly prioritizes cars above every other mode.

In 2017, most of the revenue President Trump’s businesses generated came from his domestic golf and real estate portfolio. By the first year of his second term, his business holdings had transformed and expanded in areas where he wields immense power. Take a closer look. trib.al/313eKiF

Oh good grief. This is paranoia wrapped up in fantasy. Canada’s nuclear industry, including plans for new reactors, do not give any reasons that Canada may break or exit the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Aside from it being politically suicidal for the government, it remains practically impossible. 1/

@tim4hire.bsky.social Hi Tim, looks like your Twitter account has been hacked by those hackers who send DMs asking for you to vote for them and then hijack your entire account and send these to others: just got one. Blocked and reported. Will refollow you when you get your account back.

Wishing a peaceful Tisha B’Av to Jewish New Yorkers across the five boroughs. From sundown tonight until tomorrow, mourners will pause and reflect on the history and resiliency of the Jewish people. May all observing have a safe and meaningful fast.

A major caveat to my earlier thread: the agreement-in-principle says "Canada will provide annual economic participation payments, outside the 2012 Canada–Michigan Crossing Agreement equal to 50% of net bridge and crossing related revenues for the first 15 fiscal years of bridge operations." 1/

Details of Gordie Howe Bridge deal released amid political pressure - Amid conflicting messaging and questions surrounding the agreed-upon revenue sharing between Canada and the U.S., details of the deal to open the Gordie Howe International Bridge were released late Tuesday.

"I spoke with President Trump earlier this morning—we agreed to intensify negotiations in the coming weeks," says PM Mark Carney in Ottawa, commenting on the latest threat from the Trump administration to impose new 50% tariffs on a wide range of Canadian products. #cdnpoli

19.	He has … destroyed the lives of our people.
20.	He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us …

I suspect that the agreements signed between the Province and the CSFs require payments by the government if the anaesthesiologists or others were taking the shifts, which would result in the taxpayer paying the costs of surgeries that are not happening.

“Anesthesiologists, and in some cases surgeons, have been preferentially assigned to work in chartered surgical facilities over public hospitals, including in response to political influence exerted by CSF owners.” #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli thetyee.ca/News/2025/11...

NEW: Premier Danielle Smith announces new passenger rail master plan, including $15M investment over 3 years. Begins with connecting airports with Edmonton and Calgary proper, and one day reduce travel between the two cities to under an hour. Says full plan will likley take 3 decades.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @usa.streetsblog.org @nyc.streetsblog.org
