Your brain uses about 20% of your body's energy. A study found people with Long COVID had lower energy in a key brain region, helping explain brain fog and fatigue. Creatine may help cells deliver ATP energy, but like any supplement, it's probably not the answer on its own.

Long COVID Study Finds Major Energy Deficits in the Brain - Health Rising

A long COVID study examining, for the first time, energy levels in the brain, found them to be depleted in a large region called the cingulate cortex.

well if i've been rendered a ghost anyway, i'm gonna haunt this shit as long as i can. i am an angry spirit with unfinished business and if all i can manage is the slamming of some cabinets late at night then that's what i'll do. you still won't believe in me, but you'll at least feel vague unease

"Themes included the growing evidence that dysautonomia is an inflammatory and autoimmune condition; the role of mast cell dysfunction in driving symptoms; strategies for treating people who have both POTS & ME; and a new biobank initiative to facilitate research." thesicktimes.org/2026/07/28/d...

Dysautonomia conference centers biomarkers and post-exertional malaise - The Sick Times

The 14th annual Dysautonomia International conference outside Houston included presentations on the role of autoimmunity in dysautonomia and a biobank initiative for POTS research.

1) We wrote a new article on cell and tissue analysis using genetic data. For ME/CFS, the results strongly point to neurons. One of the top hits is the medium spiny neuron, located in a region deep inside the brain called the striatum.

"Our findings provide compelling evidence that long COVID involves the loss of dopamine-releasing neurons," says Dr. Jeffrey Meyer, senior scientist at the Brain Health Imaging Center, Canada Research Chair medicalxpress.com/news/2026-07...

Interesting preliminary study shows that people with #LongCOVID have actual damage to the vagus nerve fibers that normally control the stomach. When they looked at stomach biopsies, they found far fewer nerve fibers, especially the cholinergic (vagal) ones, compared to HC.
