I really wish @propublica.org management hadn't fought the @propublicaguild.org on the latter's concerns about "AI". It makes me really REALLY concerned whether I'll have to be on my guard about trusting things from propublica now, Too. It's just exhausting. But if the Guild is happy, it's a start.

so Discover got assimilated by capital one and I’m thisclose to canceling my card. I only kept it because I argued down my APR to something more reasonable & I closed out all the others except the one thru my credit union. Now I gotta use C1’s website/app & I hate hate hate it. Zero balance for now.

The big issue here is that Seth Moulton didn't get invited into these private equity deals because he was Mr. Moneybags. Seth's access was a gift in exchange for votes and favors. It paid off.

It’s important to appreciate that none of these funding rounds needed Moulton’s money. Rather, they were opportunities to let him in on a sweet deal. In the case of Oura, the 2021 funding round raised $100 million. According to his disclosures, Moulton put in between $100,001 and $250,000. In the case of webAI, the “seed round” in 2023 raised $17 million. Moulton put in between $30,002 and $100,000. In both cases, he contributed well under 1 percent of the total.
