It's always interesting how "liberal" or "leftwing" spaces (whether perceived or actual) have to "stop being a bubble", but no one asks the same of Truth Social or any of the other rightwing spaces.

I actually think the trillionaire saying his AI tool will remake a movie without the Black and trans actors in it should be a bigger story because it’s a perfect example of why the ruling class wants AI to succeed: so they can remake reality without those they deem undesirable - every nazi’s dream.
the rule is "treat guests like gods, because they might be gods". By tricking the Trojans, abusing the hospitality rule, the idea that nobody would EVER stoop that low, they broke the world. This lead not only to raiders (guests pillaging hosts) but also Circe (hosts abusing guests).
now imagine some current rule being broken or suddenly "up for debate": genocide is bad, starving children is bad, bombing schools is bad, denying life-saving care is bad, representing donors instead of voters, putting people in concentration camps, torture is wrong...

This sports betting shit is so predatory and we're allowing it to flourish. I think it should probably be legal in some capacity, but putting apps on peoples' phones and posting live odds on ESPN is insanity. Sports betting is a microcosm of our entire cultural moment.

This entire document is a hand grenade of "we are done indulging this heresy and it is time that we clean house, and we will be merciful to those who were led astray but those who were doing the leading are gonna have to work their asses off to convince us they won't do it again".
This is basically establishing exactly what did not happen last time: a systemic rehabilitation and reconciliation process for the people who have been deliberately putting one toe on the heresy line and looking back at the Vatican to see if they noticed, for *decades*.
yeah unfortunately the point at which security agents started manufacturing crimes to so they could arrest people to support the delusions of a single personalist ruler was the point at which the story stopped being silly heavy-handed metaphor and started being of real concern
