This guy never served. He faked an injury to avoid the draft. None of his children have served. He called those who did serve their country "suckers and losers." He skipped the centenary memorial for servicemen who died in WWI because it was drizzling. This is more than usually repellent.

I repeat: This guy had the money to live anywhere in the world he wanted. He chose to spend the first 73 years of his life in Manhattan before finally fleeing to a jurisdiction more likely to let him get away with crimes.

During 5 years in Singapore I rented three British-colonial houses from the early 1900s. Locally called black-and-whites because of the exterior palette. (Also in the Malaysian highlands and Dutch variations in Indonesia.) All 3 houses lacked aircon and were always cool in the equatorial climate.

You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.
