Studying the cancer-cardiovascular disease interplay, with a focus on how cancer reprograms the hematopoietic and immune systems, at the Francis Crick Institute in London http://www.adroverlab.com

Thrilled to welcome the wonderful @adrover.bsky.social to Zurich for our monthly SMyLe @smyle-ch.bsky.social seminar! 📅 March 24 | 16:30 📍 ETH Hönggerberg Join us to hear José present his great science! Special thanks to @syis-ecr.bsky.social for supporting this event!

The next SMyLe seminar is coming up soon! Please join us on March 24th at 16.30 at ETH Höngg (HCI J6) or via Zoom (ethz.zoom.us/j/63706799264) for a talk by @adrover.bsky.social "From Guardians to Foes: Cancer-induced host remodelling and neutrophil plasticity drive tumour necrosis and metastasis"

@cdi-einstein.bsky.social Director @jaguirreghisolab.bsky.social co-leads a study showing how viral infections can trigger via IL6 signaling awakening of dormant breast cancer cells in lungs. CDI's research focuses in part on host variations controlling the timing of residual cancer awakening

Delighted to see this story out and collaborate with amazing teams led by @jdegregori.bsky.social Mercedes Rincon & @roelvermeulen.bsky.social. Proud to see science propelled by our lab @cdi-einstein.bsky.social expanded to better understand cancer dormancy. Congrats! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Happy to share our latest preprint doing low cell number (mini-bulk) and single cell #proteomics on tumour associated neutrophils from human glioblastoma where we find multiple functional states that would be invisible to scRNAseq, some showing pro-tumoural states with potential therapeutic value

Single cell proteomic analysis defines discrete neutrophil functional states in human glioblastoma

Neutrophils are vital innate immune cells shown to infiltrate glioblastomas, however we currently lack the molecular understanding of their functional states within the tumour niche. Neutrophils are k...

A fascinating study reports that neutrophils and NETs actively induce tumor necrosis. Congratulations, BDP @megeblad.bsky.social and @adrover.bsky.social on your latest publication in @nature.com.

As a new postdoc in my lab (@cshlnews.bsky.social@jhu.edu) @adrover.bsky.social (now @crick.ac.uk) saw NETs in tumors—I shrugged. But he looked closer in 3D: NETs block tumor vessels, driving necrosis, hypoxia, EMT & metastasis. 🔗 www.nature.com/articles/s41... @jhu-bdps.bsky.social @nature.com

I’m happy to share our latest work on tumour necrosis! During my time in the @megeblad.bsky.social lab, we found that tumour necrosis is not a passive phenomenon secondary to tumour growth, but an active phenomenon driven by neutrophils and NETs! Thread below: (1/13) www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Are you curious about how cancer impacts immune cell progenitors and how that changes mature cell function? My lab will soon be recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow. If you are interested, please find more information here: adroverlab.com/open-positio...

Last contribution to the understanding of #neutrophil biology. Superb work from Tommaso, @alazozcan.bsky.social, and Jackson that I had the pleasure to contribute to and see growing during my time at @drusqui.bsky.social lab.

Excited to post for the first time to present our exciting new paper @Nature. The fruit of massive work by Tommaso Vicanolo, @alazozcan.bsky.social and Jackson Li, and our superb collaborators Laiguan and Stefan Uderhardt. True teamwork! Free link: rdcu.be/eeeA2 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
