It’s misogynist, patriarchal, white supremisist, Christian nationalism all the way down. And every inch we let them take just gives them an excuse to go fife the next mile.
This is where the current batch of anti-trans legislation leads. It attacks two issues simultaneously. 1) it goes after bodily autonomy and some of the same “logic” gets used against reproductive rights, and 2) it enforces patriarchal control over people’s role and presentation.
@death-b4-dishonor.bsky.social · 9h agoThe Heritage Foundation/GOP believe tha women have basically 3 purposes, bear children, manage the household ( i.e. cook, clean, manage the kids) and do whatever the husband/man say. And if we don't change things starting in November, that's what women are headed back to.
Except for religious studies, the graduates of these "loan ineligible" majors are disproportionately women. Fans of this policy have probably never considered that social worker, cosmetician, teachers aide, etc might be low-paying jobs *because* women do them. newrepublic.com/post/213446/...

The U.S. Senate is about to advance the nomination of a man who has helped Trump unconstitutionally evade releasing the Epstein files, and tried to use federal funds to pay insurrectionists. If the purpose of the U.S. Senate is to defend against tyranny, it has failed in its purpose.

"don't make enough money" is a fig leaf All those degree programs--social work, art, etc.--have disproportionately female student bodies. This is designed to make it harder for women to attend college--college education being a key factor in women's autonomy from men & left-leaning voting pattern.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

whenever someone tells you that it's simply impossible for police to be charged with misconduct or criminal charges, you can tell they're wrong because some cops do get charged regularly — when they are whistleblowers or reformers prosecutors are actually extremely eager to help drum them out!
