Finished my series of painted postcards capturing scenes from The Third Man. Each piece was done with three pans of watercolor and sumi ink on 4x6 300lb cold press watercolor paper postcards.

The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.
My wife, a prodigious sleep-talker, failed to disclose her affliction when we started dating, which led to the fright of my life the night she sat bolt upright in bed and in a low flat monotone loudly declared that “THIRTEEN BABIES REMAIN UNFATHERED.”
due south slash fans are beloved by every higher power there is SEND TWEET
So anyway what if I drop everything & rewatch Due South. WHEN will they give the pEOPLE what they dESERVE (a dvd release that isn't literally such an old rip from the VHSes that you cannot individually select episodes to play)
while they're at it, they should consider creating some sort of agency to monitor our food production systems. maybe one that researches, crafts and enforces best-practice food handling regulations designed to prevent the spread of dangerous bacteria & parasites? and... shit, wait. hang on a second
they should invent a website for the No Buy produce list
"you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" wrong. nonsense. shut up. if you stay alive, insist on kindness, and never stop looking for opportunities to help others, you might just live long enough to see yourself become dolly parton
Hi, this is your seasonal reminder to back up your computer, your cell phone, your voice recorder, your memory cards, anything you think is important. Make multiple copies, because hard drives fail and are very expensive right now. Sometimes you drop you phone into a lake. Do it sooner than later.
Damn, I painted this little snail and I guess it tried to crawl away when I wasn't looking 🐌
I think Dolly Parton would appreciate this MBMBAM episode where they discuss who they'd bring with them on a space voyage to Mars, and Justin picks Dolly for the most unhinged imaginable reason, and then it gets MORE unhinged because of course. Anyway RIP ma'am

Do you know how truly moving you have to be for Roger Ebert, Professional Big Naturals Enthusiast, to not even MENTION your fantastic rack after a meeting like this?
Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.
my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.
Dolly Parton with Keith Haring in 1985, incredible woman and supporter of LGBTQ people for decades going back to a time when few others dared.
In the 80s/90s, my mother & a colleague/family friend often got together for dinner, where we'd all listen to music & they'd drink champagne (well, bubbly, but the point stands). They particularly loved the first Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt) album.
if there’s a point to fame it’s to do what dolly parton did in the world
Every person I've ever met who ever touched the orbit of Dolly Parton even briefly (including my brother, who did some minor work with her a few years back) told the same glowing story; that she was kind and smart and good. Rest in peace.
20 books in the aubrey-maturin series, one season per book, eight to ten episodes per season, we're building a new hms surprise from scratch to film in and those actors are getting press ganged into a full decade of public service in the king's navy
youve got 5.6 billion to make a 7 season 56 episode show airing over 15 years, wdyd
