Rockstar is union-busting. Ubisoft is, too, but they also have the problems of systemic sexual harassment. Epic's all-in on AI and Sweeney is fully Musk-pilled. Ironically despite its myriad of serious issues, Nintendo are arguably the least actively criminal and are involved in minimal atrocities.

Microsoft is waist-deep in genocide, an AI pivot, and is burning down its gaming division one way or the other. Sony is going all-in on being the sole survivor, promising a closed platform of digital-only titles you'll rent in perpetuity from them. EA is now owned by multiple disreputable parties.

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Making games is a business. But without people who genuinely love making games, there won’t be much of a business left. The industry doesn’t just need better numbers. It needs more passionate people in leadership, more new talent welcomed in, and more belief that games are art worth fighting for.
