NBC Calls it for Abdul El-Sayed to win the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan. We're waiting on AP call and another network.

Teach your children ‘democrats are not always good, but republicans ARE always bad’ and in 2026 you’ve covered like 90% of their practical civic education wrt voting.
The best thing about Vote Blue No Matter Who is that it unloads a lot of cognitive burden. I wanted Tom Steyer to be in the Governor's race, but he's not so I'm gonna vote for Becerra. I don't follow his campaign at all: I'm voting for him because he's not a Republican.
the best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.
Don't just drive past the premise, though, which is absurd. Any WNBA team is exclusively the top 0.01% athletes in the sport. Pretending that a high school team could hang with, much less beat, them is ridiculous.
And meanwhile the actual current HHS secretary is openly promoting sending children to work camps in lieu of mental health treatment but sure, imaginary quarantine camps that never happened are the real threat
we all remember his gleeful destruction, he can't rewrite this history
are we in hell?
Rare AOC miss. You do not have to hand it to MAHA. Their disrespect for science and public health far outweighs whatever they may accidentally get right about corruption.
There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
#PPOD: NASA's Curiosity Mars rover captured these clouds just after sunset on March 19, 2021, the 3,063rd Martian day, or sol, of the rover's mission. The image is made up of 21 individual images stitched together and color corrected so that the scene appears as it would to the human eye. 🧪 🔭
society if we understood the difference between “no one is allowed to ask these forbidden questions” and “people keep asking these stupid questions and getting answers they don’t like”
Voice aside, one of the things that makes my blood boil the most is righteous indignation from people in the wrong
RFK Jr yelling at Dana Bash sounds like a rabid dog barking
I have been making a similar if narrower point about SpaceX this week. Yes they aren't within several AU of Elon's promises but they actually do "rocket go up" way better than any other organization on Earth right now
This is so dumb. The hardware he’s talking about already 1) was used to validate and send flight hardware to space and 2) continues to validate flight sequences that get sent to mars He has a high schooler’s understanding of how hardware is used in aerospace engineering
NASA administrator Isaacman's response to @planetarysociety.bsky.social @caseydreier.bsky.social report that flying the earthbound Mars test rover to the moon will likely cost a billion. Isaacman doesn't actually disagree or cite any inaccuracies, one notes

Wait does this mean you can leave hell?
Turns out when you shift mean temperature higher, some crazy shit happens on the end of the bell curve (as climate scientists have predicted for decades)
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.
Apparently the roman space telescope will be able to scans of the sky in a month that would take hubble a century

The existence of this product degrades public trust in data that is supposed to provide transparency. Our information environment is now measurably worse for precisely no gain.
New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
i do not understand what the non-nefarious use case for this even is

what if we made an entire product out of the most abusive possible use case

Lmao $700M to send rover to the moon, even after stealing a bunch of parts from the Mars rover teams
The Cost of a PROMISE
NASA may send an engineering test of the Perseverance rover to the Moon, but at what price?

What happens in a disaster scenario when NOAA needs vastly increased resources? Can google guarantee surge supply? If they can are we even saving money? Republicans have a fetish for privatization and don’t care if people end up dying because of it.

Yes, and I agree with @jamellebouie.net that we should "push" his financial house of cards by applying ordinary regulations. I would add that once the hype bubble propping up SpaceX's ludicrous valuation collapses, the only reasonable course of action is to have NASA run SpaceX launch operations.

i will not be told we have to simply move on from this for the greater good
“Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.” Right now people in blue states are basically paying federal taxes as if they’re colonized territories of red states. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...
I hate Elon as much as anyone, and there is lots of corruption going on, AND I know SpaceX is a flawed company… but they also do successfully launch a bunch of rockets, and Space Force needs them. If you want to look at corruption, focus on starship contracts and environmental laws.
Since I already stirred the pot giving SpaceX credit today, remember that SpaceX's two competitors for DOD launches are both indefinitely grounded after failures, while F9 reliability is strong and $95M/launch a competitive price.
Cool weird facts about the first Western palaeontologists. Did you know that the palaeontologist Henry De la Beche, is cited for being the first person to depict Earth as seen from space (1834)
What links Richard Owen and William Buckland (that's not dinosaurs) They got along with, then Prime Minister, Robert Peel, and both worked on modernising sewers and drainage systems, in Westminster (Buckland) and Lancaster (Owen).
remember when this didn't happen all the time
