It really is quite funny how the people who insisted for years that leftists needed to be pragmatic and meet voters where they are have planted their flag in support of Israel and data centers, two of the most unpopular stances in the country
“Culture of impunity” is right. The demand is to never hold public figures accountable for wrongdoing, not even verbally when they’re already beyond the reach of human accountability and won’t hear the criticisms and jokes. The legacy must be sanitized, or current elites might feel less impunity.

Juneteenth can and should be recognized as a memorial of an important victory, but it also serves as a reminder: The Declaration of Independence and US Constitution contain powerful rhetoric of the promise of freedom, but the act of attaining it is a process, and we're still in the middle of it.
Here's my actual true opinion. The only way to fix all of this nonsense is rent affordability and health care . If people can afford the rent and get healthcare, then they can start and go to work for normal businesses, and write and make art and music. And there can be third places, etc etc.
