Agile Software Development is NOT break big projects into small sprints. Agile Software Development IS build something, then iterate. I have seen so many teams spend extraordinary effort on the ceremony of Scrum, and never once manage or even try to put some early idea in the hands of users.
Just signed up for this. Only person I trust to give a pragmatic course on AI-asisted development.

You know AI is fucked when AWS is advertising their AI offering on terrestrial TV during match ad breaks. They're desperate for customers and have gone the shotgun approach. We all knew crypto had reached peak when it did the same.
Reminded of a time I did an experiment at a startup. New feature would take 5 devs 6 months, I came up with a 1 dev 1 month experiment to figure out it's validity. Finished & ran experiment, the result: no change. Feature was scrapped quietly. No discussion. We never ran another experiment.

I'm finding it helpful to ask whether a particular use of technology refines or dilutes information. Blowing out a two sentence prompt into a two page press release is dilutive. Everybody can see that there's no value added. I think that's a major part of the objection to "AI slop." 1/?
The "problem" which AI is designed to address is wages and, unfortunately for all concerned, the mechanism by which money is recycled in the economy is also wages.

Dude next to me in the pub talking about how great AI is: "Ask it for the business financials and it makes the spreadsheet, just like that!" I'm like, cool, have you confirmed it's sources or validated the data in anyway? Because it's probably wrong/made up.
I think we need to remember when so much of the web was as good and stupid and charming as this. We must force ourselves to know what they took from us.

Except, LLM-gen'd and human-written code are different. One was written by someone with a mental model. Modified by humans with another mental model (correct or not), etc. The other is generated by statistical, stochastic methods with constraints. These are not the same.
