I feel like naturally aspirated V6s have fallen out of favor in new vehicles. Its a shame bc around 300hp with no turbo lag or complexity is a great power option for most larger vehicle applications. Midsize and up SUVs/Crossovers, pickups up to 1/2ton, vans/minivans.
Did you know Forbes value of all 30 mlb franchises was just over 7 billion and now sits at 87.4 billion, despite no salary cap? That 14 different teams have won a world series since 2000, the NFL has had only 10? That no percentage of gains upon sale is transferred to the players that created it?
Fans deserve better than this. And fuck Manfred for saying fans want a salary cap. I want these dipshit owners and smartest guys in the room front offices to try to win games. All of them. Every year. And to stop lying about limited resources.
"buhhhhh look how many ingredients" yeah man the federal government makes them tell us EVERYTHING
it is a load-bearing myth on the normal people internet that American food safety and quality is uniquely deficient, and it's incredibly frustrating watching that turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy
I will not go for a 'big walk' in a video game. If I want to go for a 'big walk', I will simply emerge into reality and go for said 'big walk'. I will not be gaslit into believing that going for a 'big walk' is a 9/10 experience because we're that desperate to prove games are art.
It's grim how Wannabe Executive Brain has so thoroughly poisoned baseball discourse that the Red Sox feel like they have to make excuses for swapping a bum catcher for an All-Star catcher because they also threw in a bunch of mostly unranked A-ball prospects
The Orioles picked up four assets (three $1 scratch-off tickets and an ashtray full of cigar butts) while the Red Sox only picked up one asset (a crisp $100 bill)
I really hate MAGA chud/tuner/kitcar-maker Hennessey being treated like a Real Car Company
It's kind of impressive how many story heavy third person shooters Remedy has made without being able to make one with satisfying combat or narratives (I'm trying to get through Control again)
It is pretty funny to do "the Dodgers are unstoppable" discourse on a weekend where they might be swept by a team kept afloat by the AL being just dogshit
Appropriate air quotes because the most infuriating part about Americans debating "lockdown" is that it simply never happened. Having to pick up your Applebees and eat it on the sectional does not count. There wasn't even a brief moment where "everything" was closed. That's not real.
if you hated covid "lockdowns" try long covid
7 different champions in the past 10 years in MLB btw. Freaking out because the Dodgers won 3/5 is real loser behavior. Yankees won 4/5 and out spent the rest of the league by an even larger percentage.
It's going to be so funny when the Dodgers lose in the division series or some shit.
Unfortunately it is bc these smartest guys in the room front offices and these cheap dipshit owners convinced a bunch of fans that winning at payroll is better then winning a world series.
Trading away generational talent bc you're too cheap to pay is embarrassing, and they should be embarrassed
But the prospects could be anything!! They could be a Tarik Skubal!!
“But we can get prospects” stfu
You do not get to do the whole "baseball is ruined" thing because the Dodgers gave up two serious prospects, one of whom is 100 years old, for a two-month rental. On this particular thing, your team literally could have done it if they wanted
Smashing Pumpkins are the ultimate teenage band, nothing really hits like "and God is empty, just like me" when you're 13
Owners being cheap, and front offices being extremely averse to any risk, is a bigger issue than the Dodgers. The only team who seems to actually be trying to win every year.
"Other teams can't afford to trade their prospects like the dodgers can" Well the second part of that is because the other teams are too cheap to keep their own players.
I am begging you not to believe gazillionaire baseball owners when they tell you Skubal going to the Dodgers means we need a salary cap. Competitive balance is not the reason they want a salary cap. They just want to spend less, and with more predictability, on total payroll. That is all.
I don’t buy the “this is a work to get a cap” theories mostly because I don’t think Skubal changes anything about what the owners planned to do and I think Milwaukee/Tampa orgs are notorious cowards when it comes to this. They spooked themselves thinking about losing even with Skubal.
YOU (a fool): buh we need a salary cap to stop the Dodgers ME (wise, learned): we need the federal investigation into how the Dodgers' owner made a quick fortune in the heavily regulated, low margin insurance business to heat up www.wsj.com/finance/regu...
Exclusive | Federal Probe Into Dodgers Owner’s Financial Empire Was Sparked by Whistleblower
Authorities are examining about $16 billion in private-credit deals involving Walter’s insurance companies to determine whether fraud occurred.

Prospects in general are overrated. It isn’t the rest of the leagues fault the Dodgers are willing to trade them.
The Dodgers have gotten Betts, Scherzer, Turner, Darvish and Machado for jack shit. When are teams gonna learn Dodgers prospects are overrated af.
My hottest Skubal take is I don't care that he was traded to the Dodgers. I think the real sin was trading him at all. They should have given him bags of cash. This is “don't try” energy.
