Also, how are we determining which degrees "make enough money?" Because you can make a lot or a little with any old degree. Plenty of CEOs of major corporations who majored in theatre or English or history. Plenty of business and computer science grads who can't get a job.
"don't make enough money" is a fig leaf All those degree programs--social work, art, etc.--have disproportionately female student bodies. This is designed to make it harder for women to attend college--college education being a key factor in women's autonomy from men & left-leaning voting pattern.
President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
I actually think that the confusion over this question—the mistaken idea that perverts and preachers have opposing projects—is responsible for a lot of the stagnated and remedial quality of sexual politics discourses.
There’s no contradiction between this kind of pornographic misogyny and puritanical misogyny of the old Christian right. Both use sexuality to enact men’s domination over women. That one sect forces sex and the other prohibits it is largely a matter of taste.
The feeling of horror when you reach into your bag to grab your lip balm and instead grasp the DUCK'S FOOT you forgot was in there. (My dog tried to shoplift at the pet store today and I had to buy a couple to save him from a life of crime).

Absolutely shook to the bone to discover that it's been longer from when 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' came out to now than it was between the end of the original series and that reboot.
If Baseball Is Ruined, Show Me The Ruins "It is both borderline incomprehensible and self-evidently true that other teams...did not outbid the Dodgers' winning offer...It is equally strange that the Detroit Tigers did not shop more rigorously around the league for a higher return."

Insane that democrats keep trying to cave on this issue rather than amplifying the fact that it’s being spearheaded by bigots and freaks
An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play
"There's not a lot of videos of him playing" is like when Theo Von said "there aren't any photographs of humans with dinosaurs" these guys should not be allowed to drive a car or vote
The whole Mariners' pen believes Babe Ruth didn't exist. Kinda want all MLB players to believe this and make the owners agree to it in next CBA
The best time to make “Republicans want to take your kids into school a bathroom, pull down their pants, and inspect their genitals” stick to the entire party of Epstein file protectors was when they said that’s essentially what they wanted to do years ago back in Ohio. The next best time is now.

The only creative industry that is inarguably both doing well and doing great work right now is "new baseball guy names."
Jhomnardo Reyes is going to the Orioles for Dean Kremer, per source.
I just severely doubt your PTSD treatment is truly more effective for female veterans if you have included zero female veterans with sexual trauma in your study.

👇 "The vast majority of people who work in film and television are not studio executives, nor are they famous actors. They are, overwhelmingly, blue-collar workers, freelancers, and small businesses. And they are in free fall." Yes.
People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...
This remains the craziest fucking story, but even more than these people deserved this payout, ebay deserved to have to make this payout.

I felt like it was getting weird and insane on the site today reading defensive take after take from mostly men on this site. The snark and anger boiling over. The “how could she?” and that her review was all just academic snobbery. Insane.
I guess going hungry would count as "changing their eating habits"
Living through the biggest jump in grocery prices in a half-century has many Americans changing their eating and food shopping habits.

I love it for writers when shit like this happens. Serhii Plokhy had it happen with his Chernobyl book (2018) when the TV series hit. John Barry's 2004 book on the Spanish Flu became a bestseller during COVID. Imagine getting $1.80 royalty checks on a 20-year old book, and suddenly...
