I do this as well. If there's time and I want to make someone feel terrible, I'll mention how long it took to write each stolen work, and how much of the work is rooted in my parents' deaths. As a treat.

a thing i didn’t get angry enough about at the time is that to *prove* i wasn’t from money & get loans in undergrad, i had to keep death certificates & have 3 non-relatives write letters that said “yeah, her mom really is dead & she never had a dad.” this was hard once, but i had to do it each year.
It’s really fucked up we told generations of kids they had to take out personal loans in order to improve their lives as we cut funding to schools and when that turned out to be bullshit the general consensus has been “fuck those kids”
