The thing about using slop flyers for advertising is that there’s no way to visually differentiate between a lemonade stand, a BBQ joint, a car wash, and a laundromat. They all look exactly the same and from a branding perspective that’s bad, actually

Doctors say that you should eat a balanced diet that includes whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. A guy who snorts cocaine off toilet seat seats and doesn’t wipe his ass says you should subsist entirely on sauerkraut and steak. For a busy eaters it can be hard to know who to trust.

OPINION by David Colborne: Papers, please — the SAVE America Act threatens to wreck Nevada’s elections with burdensome ID requirements. It’s bad for voters, bad for election officials and bad for democracy. thenevadaindependent.com/article/opin...

The SAVE America Act is a legislative catastrophe. It requires Nevada voters to carry ID cards that don't currently exist, prove their citizenship using documents that aren't easy to amend after a marriage, and lets anyone sue election officials personally. My latest for @thenvindy.com:

OPINION by David Colborne: The SAVE America Act will destroy Nevada’s elections. It requires forms of ID our state doesn’t even use — and allows partisan meddlers to muck up elections with frivolous lawsuits. thenevadaindependent.com/article/opin...

In a slightly saner era, Tucker Carlson gave a speech at CPAC arguing conservative media should seek to do solid original reporting like the NYT. A woman stood up to object: “You claim the Times does good journalism, but I see them issue corrections every day!”

Philip Bump@pbump.com · 2w ago

The core of the right-wing information universe is that one correction from a mainstream outlet proves it can’t be trusted and that one accurate claim in a flurry of false ones proves that they must be.

The SAVE America Act mandates that all voters must bring to the polls specifically a photo ID which has proof of citizenship “on the front of the document.” So REAL IDs don’t count. If the ID does not precisely conform to that standard, you must also bring separate proof of citizenship.

Scalise: "Anybody that gets on an airplane has to show a picture ID to vote. Nowadays, if you want to go to Olive Garden and get unlimited pasta, you gotta show a picture ID. This isn't complicated stuff."

Nixon was mid Agnewgooning when Woodward and Bernstein came and spiked his cortisol levels 😭 Is ignoring the WaPoids while munting and mogging Republicoids more useful than EV votefishing in the Watergate Hotel?

The kids are “Nixonmaxxing”: More than half-a-century after Watergate, conservative youth are discovering the aesthetic, and adopting the attitude, of the late president. 🔗 www.wsj.com/politics/ric...

it's funny how it's considered just a little bit coarse and unrespectable to be focused on current and extant threats instead of trying to get grant money to sit around and think about how computer demons will eat us if we're not nicer to brine shrimp
