Another day, another plan originating from the UK that would involve the EU making wholesale changes to its own internal and external arrangements to suit the interests and political preferences of a neighbouring non-member state.

Feel like these two articles together really sum up well the weird position AI is in in the workplace. Employers want you to use it more. But the more clients/customers see it, the less they want it.
Lots of good rebuttals to this original post floating around on here already but I’ll add that “things haven’t improved in the last 40 years” is a take that requires a laughable level of ignorance about the developing world.

Completely indistinguishable from George Galloway. The Greens are in quite monumental danger of fairly extreme takeover at the moment and I'm not sure their internal processes are robust enough to stop it.

There are many decent Greens who will be disgusted by this and I wish them all power fighting back against it. We know from experiance how hard that is.
I can understand why Lucy Powell doesn't frame the issue this way, but it would be useful if the wider Labour world did: the current NEET crisis exists in part (and is being made worse by) multiple very deliberate policy choices made in the first two years of this government.

Yes, you're going to get a NEETs issue. That's pretty basic economics.
Impressive win for Lab - well ahead of the polling. Nearly didn’t need second round. Disappointing for Reform and Greens. Restore performance remarkable for a party that’s just months old - might have harmed Reform? But Lab would have won comfortably even without them.

Actually quite angry reading this. I know it’s a bit passé to talk about “why don’t politicians crack down on people not using headphones on the bus” but I think we do need to reckon with platforms that incentivise people to completely disregard the norms of civil society and get away with it.

the funny thing is that it has already been proven football fans have no attachment to the 'FIFA' brand. When FIFA tried to charge EA even more money to use it for their iconic game series, EA dropped the license entirely and renamed the games. And 'FIFA' fans still happily bought it.

If national teams showed up for a World Cup tournament not held by FIFA we would all watch it. World Cup is the brand. FIFA is nothing.

Indeed - education should be for life which means equipping us to adapt to the unforeseen. We know exactly what happened when children were prepped for a lifelong job in the town’s major employer, then the shipyard, mine or steelworks closed down.

Full credit - genuinely impressive to not go with the flow and bother trying to make an appeal to reason in the Telegraph these days on this. Don't normally care for his output, to put it lightly, but this is important
